    On HKFP today: The protest coalition which has organised some of the biggest pro-democracy demonstrations in Hong Kong's history has disbanded following pressure from the authorities.

    The Civil Human Rights Front said in a statement on Sunday that is decided to disband on Friday, just three days after Hong Kong's largest teachers' union - an key pillar of the city's pro-democracy camp - announced it's decision to dissolve.

    "In the course of over a year, the government continuously used the pandemic as a reason to reject the demonstration applications of CHRF and other groups - each member group was oppressed, and civil society was facing unprecedented challenges," the statement said.
