When we women reach perimenopause in our 40s our exercises need to shift due to factors such as hormonal as well as loss in muscle mass, loss in bone density and therefore slower metabolism. So instead of doing crazy diets eating less and increasing cardio exercises you might find this instead increases your cortisol- your stress hormone -, resulting in more weight gain and likely less sleep. So what we need to do is : - more weight strength training as more muscles mean more fat burn and increases metabolism and build your bones - Eat more nutritional micro nutrients food - more yoga, stretch flexibility and meditation for better sleep and better mind - cyclical training, fit training to our monthly cycle - do cardio get your heart rate up, but remember more is not necessarily better. - be kind to yourself. Be kind to your body, be kind to your mind. - acceptance and letting go that with age we change but we can adapt.
