【鬼】在英文中，絕對不是只有“ghost” 這麼簡單！

生活難免遇到各種雷到不行、真心看不順眼的人，這時我們可以偷偷叫他spoilsport，遇到摳到不行、什麼都要aa制的人，我們則稱爲penny-pincher或cheapskate⋯⋯

那愛哭鬼、貪吃鬼呢？一次搞懂各種「鬼」英文👇

晚餐後，女孩們看著恐龍的動畫片，媽媽也陪同看了一下。劇中的媽媽說要設定規則讓孩子遵守；畫面立馬地轉至孩子們的對話：當孩子的樂趣，就是破壞規則。(媽媽表示：嗶嗶.....犯規犯規.........)

這段可愛的對話，讓我憶起書架中的一本厚書，其中一句話，“Just let the kid do his own thing，” by Maurice Sendak. 整個段落大約是表達以下的思維，讓孩子做他當做的事，並樂在其中。也提及到，書本不該只是教條，亦或是課題。孩子們理當享受閱讀。

而其中這一句，“Kids should feel that they can do what they want to do and no one will punish them，” 這段內容，我個人是有些疑慮。要給孩子們快樂自在及自由，這些我都明白；但是，沒有人能夠處罰他們，這個點，我想我很難舉手贊成。因此，我很想釐清句中的punish是 意指 mentally 還是 physically？很遺憾地，這世人，這個疑惑，恐怕也無法問個明白了。

然而，提到 Maurice Sendak，同是繪本愛好者，都曉得 He is a must. 除了無人不知無人不曉的Where the wild things are，他的作品也大多與他本身有切身的關連。這些資訊無需我畫蛇添足地來說明，網路搜尋便可以輕易取得相關資料。

我的書架上，有一本讀本很清楚地寫出 Maurice Sendak的生平事蹟；例如，他跟哥哥Jack，共同出版過二本書及他們家其實沒有童書。 大部份的時間，Maurice都是在讀漫畫書；他第一次真正擁有的書是在他的九歲生日時，姊姊送給他當做禮物的The Prince and the Pauper，由馬克吐溫著作。他對這本書愛不釋手，他盯著它看、熱情地鼻聞它，甚至輕咬它；沒辦法，比起從前翻看的那些紙質差的漫畫書，這本漂亮的著作，真的是深得 Maurice的大大歡心呀！當然囉，他最後有靜坐下來，仔細地閱讀這本書。這本作品也寫出Walt Disney動畫對於Maurice的影響。書中也提及到他成年後的感情世界，一直到他過世為止。

Since Maurice Sendak is a must to whom are addicted to picture books, something related to him is surely needed to be involved. The work of this book, "100 great children's picture book," selects two works of Maurice Sendak. One was wrote and illustrated by Maurice Sandal, the other was as well illustrated by him. It is unusual and probably an honor to be selected in a book at a time. It is kinda reminding us Maurice Sendak is surely one of greatest book artists and not forgetful till now and then.
