    Tried making my own matcha pound cake but things didnt exactly go according to plan. 😅 At least there is the convenient option of just buying Sara Lee Matcha Pound Cake from selected NTUC FairPrice, Finest and Xtra stores!

    Here is a spot to satisfy your fish and chicken cravings! A choice of fish that runs from the larger cut of halibut, tbh it's one of the best fish and chips in Hong Kong ever. The fish is piping hot with crispy batter. Perfect! Just want the fish and chips? Their roasted chicken is also a must-have item. They use fresh chicken. Kariya-san is helping design Jun's kitchen as well as the cabinets in our bathrooms using Ikea products as a base, and then customizing the cabinet fronts and counters through Japanese carpenters. The cost this way is actually HALF of what we were quoted from a high-end Japanese custom kitchen-building company (the other way Jun would have been able to get his specific appliances and counter height). And we weren't even overly impressed with the high-end company!

    The vast majority of kitchens in Japan are unit kitchens, which have limited customization options. Unit kitchens are so prevalent that they run the full spectrum of cheap to luxury, where "luxury" unit kitchens can cost $13,000 for a single floor-to-ceiling cabinet! And most of them do not allow for high counters for tall people like Jun. Thank you so much Kariya-san for letting us film your house!

    Honestly was feeling emotionally down because of the constant lockdowns in Malaysia and now I can't even have a birthday dinner with my close friends. BUTTTT, it turned out a lot sweeter than I imagined. Just wanted to document this birthday for myself, to remind myself to shut up and be grateful lol.


    Also, I'm feeling insecure because I feel like I come across as so annoying to say "aww thank youuu" so many times in 10 mins, but I mean.. to be fair, this was taken over 1 week. And this is the real me lah, I'm very expressive and overly thankful, and some people might find that annoying, so I'm sorry if you feel that way.

    【Ingredients】 8 servings
    ★140g Bread flour
    ★200g Cake flour
    ★12g Baking powder
    ★40g Cane sugar(or Granulated sugar)
    70g Unsalted butter

    1 Egg(60g)
    140g Soy milk(+more for brush the top)

    80g Frozen blueberries

    Blueberry icing:
    15g ~ Powdered sugar
    1tsp~ Blueberry powder
    1 tsp~ Lemon juice
    ***Scones aren’t an overly sweet treat…so it’s the icing that adds the right amount of sweetness to this breakfast pastry.

    【Directions】
    Preparation:
    Preheat the oven to 392 °F/200℃.

    ①Cut the butter into1cm cubes and cool it in the refrigerator.
    ②In a bowl, mix Eggs,Soy milk and cool it in the fridge.
    ③Combine the dry ingredients (★)and mix together with a whisk.
    ④Add the Butter.
    Using fingertips, rub the Butter cubes into flour mixture until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Do not over do it.
    ⑤Add ② to ④ and mix .
    ⑥Using your palm , flatten the dough to 3cm thick.
    ⑦Brush all over with Soy milk(or milk) and score into 8 rough squares. Bake for 18 minutes until golden.
    ⑧Cool on a wire rack.
    To make Blueberry Icing, mix Icing Sugar, Blueberry powder and Lemon Juice until smooth. Place it in a piping bag , and pipe it out on the cooled Scones.


    ***れしぴ置き場***

    【材料】8個
    ★強力粉 140g
    ★薄力粉 200g
    ★ベーキングパウダー 12g
    ★きび砂糖(or グラニュー糖) 40g
    無塩バター 70g

    卵(L) 1個 60g
    豆乳 140g(+トップに塗るための少量)

    冷凍ブルーベリー 80g

    粉糖 15g~
    ブルーベリーパウダー 小さじ1~
    レモン汁 小さじ1~
    甘さ控えめですので、アイシングをたっぷりとかけてもOkです!

    【作り方】
    準備:
    オーブンは200℃に温めておく。

    ①バターを1cm角に切って冷蔵庫で冷やしておく。
    ②ボウルに卵、豆乳をよく混ぜ冷蔵庫で冷やしておく。
    ③材料(★)をボウルに入れて泡立て器で混ぜ合わせる。
    ④ここに冷やしたバターを入れ、指先ですりこむように混ぜる。
    全体に混ざって粉類がさらさらになればOk。無理に細かく混ぜようとするとどんどんバターが溶けてくるので、手早く混ぜ全体にバターが混ざった感じになればよい。
    ⑤④に②を加えて混ぜます。
    ⑥打ち粉をしながら、手で生地をまとめたら3cmの厚さに平らにする。
    ⑦生地を8個に切り分け、天板に並べたら、刷毛で豆乳(またはミルク)を塗る。黄金色になるまで18分焼く。
    ***小さくカットした場合は早く火が入りますので、気持ち短めで焼いてください。冷凍のブルーベリーを加えているので、生地の温度が上がりにくいです、しっかりと焼いてください。
    ⑧ワイヤーラックで冷ます。
    完全に冷めたら、上にブルーベリーアイシングを絞る。
    ***ブルーベリーアイシング
    粉砂糖にブルーベリーパウダーを加えて、レモン汁を少しずつ加えてよく混ぜ固さを調整します。
    パウダーがないときはレモン汁のみを加えたアイシングにしてください。
