[RESEARCH SERIES] KHI NHÀ KHOA HỌC CẦU HÔN...

Hôm trước chị đọc đâu đó comment rằng, học nghiên cứu làm khoa học rất khô khan, nên hôm nay phải share ngay với mọi người series này. Ngoài những cách thông thường, nhà khoa học đôi khi còn tỏ tình và cầu hôn qua chính các công trình nghiên cứu của mình, qua các bài publication.

Người tiên phong trong xu hướng này có lẽ là Caleb Brown, nhà khảo cổ học tại Bảo tàng Cổ sinh vật học Hoàng gia Tyrrell, Canada. Trong bài báo “A New Horned Dinosaur Reveals Convergent Evolution in Cranial Ornamentation in Ceratopsidae” đăng trên tạp chí Current Biology vào tháng 6/2015, Caleb Brown và đồng nghiệp công bố phát hiện về hóa thạch một loài khủng long có sừng mới, đặt tên là Regaliceratops peterhewsi: https://www.sciencedirect.com/.../pii/S0960982215004923

Do đây là bài báo đầu tiên mô tả về loài khủng long này, Caleb Brown biết rằng công trình của mình sẽ được trích dẫn và nhắc đến nhiều trong tương lai. Nhân cơ hội này, Caleb Brown đã cầu hôn bạn gái Lorna O’Brien, đồng nghiệp làm việc cùng bảo tàng, trong phần Acknowledgements do anh muốn lời cầu hôn trở thành bất tử như chính công trình nghiên cứu của anh và những hóa thạch mà anh tiếp xúc hàng ngày.
Caleb Brown đã rất may mắn và hạnh phúc khi câu trả lời của bạn gái anh là “Yes”.

Đấy nhà khoa học cũng lãng mạn theo cách của riêng mình mà nhỉ :v

Beautiful Brunei

Thanks to sizeable deposits of oil and gas, the tiny tropical sultanate of Brunei Darussalam has one of the highest standards of living in the world.
