🤰 Pregnancy update: 23 weeks with identical twins 👯‍♂️ The babies 👶🏻 👶🏻: - each 500g+, growing almost equally (thankfully, for now) - kicking like crazy 😜 - esp active after dinner and during my Netflix session lol The Mama 🤰: - gained 8+kg so far - am almost as big as a 30+w singleton pregnancy - can no longer sit up straight: always need pillow support and lean back in sun tanning position 😎 - taking iron, Vitamin D, magnesium and calcium supplement for healthy 🩸 and 🦴 for me and babies. - can only sleep on my sides with pillow between knees to support my back - eating lots of dark greens 🥬 and protein 🍗 and fruits 🍎 for steady growth - heartburn in full swing - still exercising moderately everyday (gentle bounce, light weight training, Pilates and flexibility/restorative exercises on the mat). Thankfully no backache thanks to the back and core muscles doing its work to support the extra weight! 💪 - no stretch marks (yet) (exercising helps with skin elasticity esp Bouncing on the trampoline) - no swelling (yet) (again, exercising helps with preventing water rentention, esp Bouncing on the trampoline) - in better mood generally 🙃 (husband may not quite agree 🤫) - thank you hormones for easing up on me, and again, exercising helps w mood big time! Esp bouncing lol. - working less and planning to go into semi maternity break from week 24 as recommended for twin pregnancies (due to preterm labor risks). - naps for the win 😉 PS: almost done with filming a full Fit Pregnancy workout series with over 20 videos for safe and effective workouts for mamas during each trimester and tips for staying fit through the pregnancy. Video - Nap time How important is nap time for babies and toddlers ? Very important indeed . Its important for growth . Its essential for brain development too. A well rested child will be less grumpy and behave better . Make them sleep 1-2 hours in the afternoon . Make it a routine . Soon it will become a habit . Ideal for 0-5 years old . Somehow easier said than done . Adam & Noah do take short naps in the afternoon lasting for an hour each. Even though I only met you when you are 5 years old, we built such a strong friendship through all the daily walks I took you out on from Happy Valley to hiking to running around Cyberport Park. Cuddling you during afternoon naps was my favorite thing to do. You saw us from a young happy crazy couple, to us getting married and later having babies. You were the kindest and gentlest big sister to Keia & Kara. Allowing them to do whatever they wanted with you. Please wait patiently for Mommy & Daddy at the rainbow 🌈 bridge to the clouds. We will reunite with you once again. 🖤 I love you.
