Morning! How are you doing today? My feet are itching to travel and I'm beginning to suffer from a little cabin fever. Singapore is a dot compared to many countries. We don't have counties, states or other boroughs to visit. And although we are an island, country, city and state all at once, we are miniscule! Our entire space covers 728 square kilometres! Basically, 50km x 27km and we only have 193km of coastline. Here's a throwback to a photo taken at a wedding (not mine) in Bali in 2019. And as much as I'd love to jump on a plane, feel the sand between my feet and drink a cocktail on the cliffs of Uluwatu - the time will come soon enough. Stepping into Maison Es is like stepping into a dollhouse's tearoom and the food is equally dreamy and pretty! ✨The new menu here features lots of fresh seafood as appetisers, including Hokkaido Scallop ceviche with ikura and cockles, as well as buttery red prawn with a hit of tom yum goong froth. The Kagoshima chuck rib tartare is served in a hollowed out bone and topped with runny quail egg and caviar - definitely one for the gram! Moving on to mains, I was pleased to see that the deep fried soft shell crab sitting atop of the black pepper tossed linguine (think black pepper crab!) was plump and meaty rather than those sad miniscule ones you often get with a pomelo salad at some sub-par Thai restaurant. The wagyu A3 sirloin was always going to be safe bet and I definitely recommend going for this as a main to savour the good balance between buttery fat and lean meat, as well as for the rather savoury filo roll filled with rendang meat. Of course, the entire restaurants being geared towards the ladies, the dessert selection here is suitably imaginative. All of them aren't too sweet nor are they too sweet, perfect for those watching their figures (I gave up a long time ago...). For example, a light coconut panna cotta with passionfruit sauce is a good palate cleanser for the signature French toast topped with earl grey ice cream. A chocolate mousse filled with raspberry sauce is paired with an interesting (and I think rather addictive!) black pepper chocolate ice cream. Cheese platter is also good - I basically drenched the rye bread crisps in the gorgeous truffle honey that comes on the plate! I'm a fan of technology and advancements but it's time like these I'm glad FB live streams are not high definition😅😅💦💦💦.... This is the most sweaty class EVER!!! In the beginning I talked a bit about how when you're in a yoga pose that's a bit more physically (and mentally) challenging...the most miniscule adjustment or self deepening movement you do can feel soooooo deep. So always take your time to feel the pose as opposed to being attached to how it's "supposed" to look. Studios are opening up so the live streams will be cutting back.
