STAMINA. You need to have a great stamina to reach the beach. Seriously. The hiking part (3.6KM) is quite challenging but I’m glad that I was among the earliest to reach 😂. Suck it up kids! Pantai Kerachut or Kerachut Beach is a lovely stretch of white sandy beach located in the Penang National Park on Penang Island and is home to the Penang Turtle Sanctuary, which is located just behind the beach. There is also a very rare meromictic lake here (a lake of two layers of salt and fresh water that don't mix) but to be honest, you can't really see that much, just looks like any other lake and sometimes the lake is totally empty. With such a beautiful beach and especially if you have just walked through the rainforest and are hot and sweaty, you may be tempted to take a swim. Before you do, take a walk out along the jetty. Unfortunately, this beach has a bit of a problem with Jellyfish - Big Jellyfish!

#throwback Scenes at the turtle beach - Ahead of me was a 2 hour jungle trail. Below the bridge was a partially dry Meromictic Lake (not clearly pictured). Meromictic is a condition where water with two different densities and temperature meet but do not combine, so it becomes a layered lake (like the dead sea!). Behind me was a secluded pristine beach (absolutely no litter, no vendors!) where turtles come to lay eggs at night. It's also a no-swim area cos of the jelly fishes. Rainforest at Pantai Kerachut, Penang National Park. . Pantai Kerachut adalah “rumah” bagi para kura-kura. Dilihat dari bentuk pasir nya yang seperti kristal, membuat pantai ini sering disinggahi oleh kura-kura yang mau bertelur. . Selain sebagai pusat pengembakbiakan kura-kura Penang, pantai Kerachut juga memiliki Danau yang unik karena airnya memiliki 2 lapisan yaitu air laut dan air tawar atau biasa disebut Meromictic Lake.
