本旅人（兼禿頭碼農大叔）今年夏天不出遠門，要乖乖待在波士頓，努力探索這個城市裡被忽略的許多角落，希望可以把這些有趣的地方（特別是那裡特有的族群與文化）介紹給大家！這個企劃名稱叫做「Project DD」，至於DD是什麼意思，之後再跟各位詳細說明 :D

波士頓市區的南邊、地鐵橘線和紅線之間是一塊很特別的區域，身邊不少在波士頓待了好幾年的人都從來沒有去過。過去100多年以來，這裡一直都有著相當多的移民人口，經過幾度更迭，目前是非洲裔以及加勒比海裔的聚居區。在這裡可以輕易找到各種好吃的加勒比海食物、非洲裔社群特有的理髮廳與服飾店，還有從20世紀前半葉沿用至今的骨董級電車、19世紀保存至今的紡織廠建築、還有綠蔭夾道的河濱小徑，越逛越覺得沒有早點發現這塊地方實在太可惜了。

About my summer project of 2019 "Project DD": instead of out-of-town travel, I plan to explore some less-known neighborhoods in Boston, and discover their unique culture, people and landscape. My hope is to encourage people to visit different parts of the city and see the diversity within our city. (As for what "DD" stands for, I'll explain later :) )

My first stab today is to visit the region from Dudley, Dorchester all the way down to Hyde Park, between the MBTA orange and red lines. The population here is predominantly African and Caribbean. This is an area where you can find authentic African/Caribbean food, see their unique barber shops and clothing stores, ride the heritage trams from the first half of 20th century, marvel at well-preserved mills from 19th century, and take a stroke through the tree-shaded Neponset River. Wish I had been here much earlier. Definitely recommend without any reservation!

美國最老的捷運線是輕軌, 在波士頓。雖有超過百年歷史, 但沒有髒亂之感, 仍然天天服務著大批市民。
