We then realised it was almost 2.30pm and we had not had lunch yet so we headed out to Sandy’s which serves halal pizza. This one polished off a whole margherita pizza by himself and ordered another one for takeaway to eat at home. Followed by chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. Anyone close to us will know the battles we have fought since Fieradz was born premature at just 35 weeks. This resulted in having to live with acute laryngomalacia (aka “Squeeky Baby Syndrome”) where he would sometimes turn blue due to a floppy epiglotis suddenly cutting off his air supply. As he grew older, he never outgrew his laryngomalacia which causes severe reflux, upper respiratory problems and sleep apnea so he is small for his age. Then the ongoing battle with severe allergies and eczema which means he has to be very careful with his food or he could go into anaphylactic shock. So putting on weight is also difficult to the point some doctors and ignorant parents were giving the hubbs @fazleyyaakob and i a hard time for under nourishment. Despite all this, Fieradz actually has an excellent appetite and eats heaploads. We just don’t really know where he puts it all! 😂🤣 It was only late last year that our old paediatrician reassured us that Fieradz is progressing very well and to pay no mind to doctors and people who do not know his medical and physical journey. She told us whilst Fieradz is very slight, he carries a lot of muscle and is very strong and active so as long as he is eating, active and his cognitive development is there, he is thriving. Despite all this, dairy is a constant fear at the back of his mind. He will gingerly inspect and try all food served to see if there is any immediate negative reaction at the back of his throat. If there is none, he will attack his food. Just like he attacks his physical activities and pursuits! Just outside Sandy’s there was a free fair for children.
