星期天晚餐來到了舊金山日本城的 Nari 吃晚餐。
Nari 與舊金山米其林一星的泰式餐廳 Kin Khao 一樣
都是由知名大廚 Pim Techamuanvivit 創辦
店名在泰文中是女人的意思
代表了歷代泰國女人對於美食料理的貢獻。
Nari 在 2019 年夏天開幕之後
被 Esquire 與 GQ 雜誌分別選為 2019 以及 2020 年美國最棒的新餐廳、
也入圍餐飲界奧斯卡的 James Beard Award。

Nari 是一家新穎泰國料理結合現代的加州美食
比 Kin Khao 有著更舒適的環境以及安靜的用餐空間
位於 Hotel Kabuki 飯店旁
一樓是 100 個座位的有著挑高窗戶與綠植與木製座椅餐桌的空間
二樓則是挑高的暖色調夾層酒吧。

Nari 的餐廳座位並不好訂
建議要提早一個月左右預定比較保險
如果沒有訂位也沒關係
可以提早到餐廳看看有沒有座位。

Nari 的菜單上有豐富的調酒選項
也有啤酒、無酒精以及葡萄酒。
食物單則分成了前菜類型以及搭配白飯的主餐類型
如果不想要研究菜單也有提供 Chef's Pick 主廚套餐
價格為每人 $95
一共有七道菜。

Suphan $15
我點了這杯以琴酒與朗姆酒為基底的調酒
加入香蕉、泰國奶茶、椰子
上面撒上碎冰
插入花朵與薄荷葉
裝在深藍色魚造型的杯子中
看起來超級有特色
喝起來也很有夏威夷熱帶調酒的感覺。

Gaew $15
這杯加入朗姆酒、柳橙酒、百香果、萊姆以及印度淡啤酒
也很有夏日的氣息。

Busaba $15
這杯則是以酸櫻桃琴酒為基底
加入鳳梨、柚子檸檬草以及蘇打水
上面有一顆酒釀櫻桃。

Yum polamai $18
點了這份鹹味蜜瓜沙拉
裡面有哈密瓜、香瓜以及西瓜
搭配白醬油、椰子片以及各種香料
清爽的瓜類結合鹹鹹的調味
非常開胃。

Squid & pork jowl $25
這份是許多人大力推薦的
真的非常好吃很值得點
香烤蒙特雷魷魚搭配香味四溢的微辣醬
入口有濃郁的木炭香味
非常好吃。
另外還有微甜口感的豬臉頰肉
肥瘦適中
撒上花生與香菜
另外會附上一份泰式甜糯米。

Miang Pla $42
這份也是許多人點的
一整隻檸檬鱸魚肉切成塊下去炸
搭配檸檬草、薑、花生以及辣椒
旁邊附上高麗菜與紫色高麗菜
用高麗菜包著酥炸鱸魚一起吃非常可口
另外也可以再加點鱒魚卵搭配。

Gaeng Rawaeng Muan $40
在主餐內的每一道菜都會搭配白飯
這份是雞肉搭配薑黃與綠咖哩
撒上青椒以及羅勒
調味相當不錯
雞肉超級嫩還帶著皮
相當下飯。

Gaeng Massaman Gae $52
這份是帶骨的紅燒小羊腿
搭配泰國南部的瑪莎曼咖哩
旁邊加入黃桃以及青蔥。
不過羊腿的味道稍微有點重
肉質也比較偏硬
是當天相較比較不喜歡的菜。

Cabbage in fish sauce & garlic $12
另外加點了一份主餐搭配的小菜
是大蒜炒高麗菜
淋上鮮魚醬汁
味道相當棒。

Dreaming of Lod Chong $14
甜點點了服務生大力推薦的第一個
原本比較想點第二個有夏日莓果與珍珠
不過服務生說必點第一個。
這塊以東南亞常用的七葉蘭霜淇淋水果凍
搭配鹽味椰子醬
上面擺上香料海鹽與酥脆的冰塊
有一種鹹鹹的海鹽椰子奶油冰棒的感覺
非常特別不過不是必點。

整體來說對 Nari 的印象很不錯
比起傳統的泰式料理更多了一些特色
相較於舊金山其他東南亞餐廳更多了一些優雅與質感
是一家很值得一試的中高價位泰式結合新穎美式料理。

For this episode, we embarked on an EPIC CHEAT DAY where I LOST MY ABS IN 6 HOURS! Steven, a long-time friend and semiregular guest star, suggested that we should head over to the East side of Singapore for a cheat day as there are many malls in close proximity there. Beginning at Tampines 1 and ending at Waterway Point, I ate 12 dishes from 4 different malls, resulting in a massive 7-inch increase in waist circumference.

It was a hard push towards the end, evident from my extremely distended midsection. My normally visible abdominals gave way to a turgid and swollen belly. However, it allowed me to satisfy my cravings in between my usually strict dieting between shoots. I was pleased with Steven’s choice of malls as they had good selections of food and drinks while mostly being walking distance from one another.
