Lonelier with You takes you on a journey into the middle of a personal heartbreak (SPOILER: MY heartbreak lol). I found myself getting so caught up in wanting to be with someone, I didn't realize that the process of being with them actually made me lonelier than I was in the first place. Besides actual therapy, I'd say that music is my greatest journaling & processing tool. This song kind of wrote itself, and I'm both excited and nervous to be sharing this side of me with you all.

相信各位朋友都知道，史丹福除了喜歡血液學外，亦對數學非常有興趣。最近有朋友給我看了一篇有趣的文章，文章刊登在《Bulletin of Mathematical Biology》期刊中。文章的作者為裂口型紅細胞（stomatocytes）與鋸齒狀紅血球（echinocytes）兩種異常的紅血球建立了數學模型，嘗試讓我們更了解它們的結構。當中更涉及到雅可比橢圓函數（Jacobi elliptical function）等高等數學，非常有趣。
裂口型紅細胞是中央有裂縫的紅血球，頗像張開的口。它們可以在先天性裂口型紅細胞增多症（hereditary stomatocytosis）或東南亞卵圓形紅細胞增多症（Southeast Asian ovalocytosis）的病人中找到。至於鋸齒狀紅血球則外圍有如針狀的凸起，凸起的程度小且多，並在細胞膜上均勻分布。這種細胞常在腎功能衰退的病人中出現，但有時候則純粹是抽血瓶使用EDTA抗凝血劑引起的現象，可以在完全正常的血液中出現。
利用數學方法來研究紅血球形狀這方法非常新穎有趣，也不禁令我想起讀大學時期的老師黎青龍教授的名言－－No knowledge is useless。數學看似抽象且「離地」，與日常生活相距遙遠，有人甚至覺得數學是「沒有用」的學問。但其實只要用得其所，數學的應用空間其實很大，就連紅血球形狀這樣的問題都有用得到數學的地方。

#同志樂活村 🇬🇧
「同志族群的機智退休生活？」英國第一家LGBT+族群的銀髮退休社區，將會在2021年中正式開幕。倫敦一家住宅協會（Housing association，英國提供社會住宅的一種非營利組織）Tonic Housing，在2日正式宣佈，將會在今年年中，於倫敦南邊的蘭貝斯區（Lambeth），正式營運英國第一個LGBT+的高齡退休住宅區。圖為示意圖，為英國同志喜劇《Vicious》劇照，由伊恩麥克連主演，描述一對老年同志伴侶的退休生活。

這套退休社區，現階段一共提供19個共享產權的公寓套房，包括一房與兩房的類型可以選擇，價格介於13萬5,000英鎊到18萬英鎊（約新台幣500萬至720萬元）之間。在倫敦之所以能夠用這麼低的價格購買套房，是因為其屬於英國政府推動的「老年人共享產權計畫」（OPSO），開放特定符合條件的高齡族群用半租半買的方式，取得該屋25-75%不等的產權，進而降低購屋者需要支付的價格，剩下的股份會由房屋供應商（即Tonic Housing）持有。

為什麼會特別推出友善LGBT族群的銀髮養老村？Tonic Housing官方表示，是因為根據調查，在英國50歲以上的LGBT+族群已經有超過100萬人，之中不少人其實對於退休後的生活有所擔憂，如果退休後必須要住在一個完全只有異性戀、或者對同志族群很不友善、甚至恐同的保守社區，對這些高齡者而言，時時刻刻還必須擔心提防他人眼光，將會是「非常可怕的事情。」因此迫切希望能有一個支持LGBT+族群的退休社區，好讓大家能夠安心享受下一個人生階段。

要實現友善同志和性少數族群的樂活村，除了優先入住之外，具體還有什麼實際措施？根據 Tonic Housing 在入住方案的介紹，社區內的工作人員、護理人員，都有接受過相關培訓，能提供LGBT+高齡族群需要的照護服務、應對與心理支持。同時會特別在社區營造方面，不定期舉辦相關活動，幫助社區裡的同志長輩們彼此交流，既能夠免於社會異樣眼光，也能夠滿足人際關係互動的必要需求。

如果想入住這個LGBT+退休社區，現階段已可在官網上報名。除姓名、住址、偏好房型、是否接受室友等基本資訊之外，也須提供包括個人的性別認同、性傾向等等資料（性傾向一欄，除了Lesbian、Gay、Bisexual、Transgender、Queer之外，也包括異性戀、泛性戀、無性戀與「其他」等選項）。另外，由於屬社會住宅，其申請條件也包含：55歲或以上、家庭年收入少於9萬英鎊、手上未持有其他房地產等條件，才能夠購買。

而在套房之外，其他如交誼廳、餐廳、酒吧、花園等公共空間，必須與社區內的居住者共享。整體建築是由知名建築師佛斯特（Norman Foster）操刀設計、窗景還能遠眺泰唔士河。

另外，退休社區的設置地點為蘭貝斯區，過往一直是倫敦著名的同志區，在這裡，多元性別族群人口佔整體比例達5.5%，為英國最高。著名同志村沃克斯豪爾（Vauxhall）、以及全球第一個永久的彩虹斑馬線，也都坐落在此區。

由於Tonic Housing屬於非營利的社會住宅組織，因此購買土地、設計規劃等經費來源，除了住戶付的款項外，也有向倫敦市政府申請570萬英鎊的貸款補助。倫敦市長薩迪克汗（Sadiq Khan）也贊成此項計畫，並對此表示：「人們都應該有在支持自己的社區陪伴之下，安心度過晚年的權利。」

「我們提供這項服務，不是只因為大家都應該要『LGBT+友善』，而是我們認為，必須要從生活、歷史、以及各種需求上，去看見更多LGBT+族群的人。」Tonic Housing在官網上表示。

根據房地產經紀公司萊坊（Knight Frank）的數據調查，隨著英國人口高齡化，針對老年人設計的銀髮住宅、高齡社區等需求正在快速增長，對此推出的退休房屋商品已佔了英國房屋整體的0.6％，2018年的整體總值也已達290億英鎊。
