    一秒躁底宜疏肝清熱
    經常煩躁不安、急躁易怒、心浮氣躁,少少事情就可以「一秒躁底」,情緒就像跑車由零加速至100km/h的速度一樣,究竟這些人是否天生情緒管理特別差?未必!中醫理論認為煩躁與熱有關,肝膽火旺會引致口苦口渴、舌紅、小便黃、脅痛頭痛、晚睡多夢、煩躁易怒等症狀,經常熬夜、壓力大、飲食不節、嗜食辛辣、常喝酒、重口味食物都是常見成因。
    想改善火爆情緒宜清熱疏肝,從避免進食辛辣、溫補、重口味食物開始,適量飲用涼茶,如雞骨草、菊花茶等等,清熱祛濕,也可進食屬性偏涼的食材如火龍果、冬瓜、綠豆、霸王花等,另外還要找適合自己的宣洩渠道,適度減壓。

    雞骨草素馨花茶
    功效:疏肝清熱,紓緩煩躁心情、容易眼火爆情緒等症狀。
    材料:雞骨草9克、素馨花3克、綠茶包1個
    做法:材料洗淨放保溫瓶,以熱開水沖洗一遍,注入熱開水焗約5-10分鐘即可。此茶可反覆沖泡至味淡,建議一星期連續飲用2-3天,連續兩星期為一個療程。

    Soothe the liver and clear heat to ease irritability
    Some people are quick-tempered and always feel frustrated and get annoyed, and their emotions change quickly like a roller-coaster ride, but does that mean they have anger management issues? Not necessarily!

    Chinese Medicine theories believe this is related to heat in the body. Heat accumulated in the liver and gallbladder can cause bitterness and dryness in the mouth. Other symptoms include red tongue, yellow urine, abdominal pain and headache, insomnia and excessive dreaming, and irritability. The common causes are sleeping late, stress, unhealthy diet, and regular consumption of alcohol and hot, spicy, and heavily flavored foods.

    To improve this condition, we need to clear the heat and soothe the liver. Avoid eating hot, spicy, heavily flavored foods and ingredients that are warm in nature. Consume an appropriate amount of herbal tea made with ingredients such as Chinese prayer bead grass and chrysanthemum, as they can clear heat and eliminate dampness from the body.

    We can also consume ingredients that are cool in nature such as dragon fruit, winter gourd, mung bean, and night blooming cereus. At the same time, we can find other healthier alternatives to vent out frustration and relieve stress.

    Chinese prayer bead grass and jasminum tea
    Effects: Soothes the liver and clears heat. Relieves emotional symptoms such as irritability.
    Ingredients: 9g Chinese prayer bead grass, 3g jasminum, 1 green tea bag
    Preparation: Place all ingredients into thermos, rinse once with hot water, and add in hot water and steep for 5-10 minutes. This tea can be re-brewed until its flavor weakens. For best results, drink consecutively for 2-3 days. Two weeks for a treatment.

    Waking up in the morning feeling refreshed!

    I believe all girls out there has at least experienced mild PMS during their menstruation cycle and it is kind of uncontrollable that there’s some heat inside ur body to make you feel irritated all the time 😅😅 The only way we could cool down do is try to stay in with A/C try to minimize the irritability especially on the hottest of days.. Am glad that I do not need to turn on the aircond cause of its cooling sensation from the pad!

    調味料:素蠔油1湯匙、生抽1茶匙、糖1茶匙、麻油1茶匙、粟粉1-2茶匙

    做法:
    1. 所有材料洗淨,雪耳泡水至軟身瀝乾,把底部剪掉後切件;新鮮百合剝開;冬菇泡水至軟身,去蒂後切半,浸冬菇水留起;紅蘿蔔去皮切片;粟米仔切段;蒜切片備用。
    2. 鑊中燒熱少許油,加入薑片、蒜片爆香,加入餘下材料炒勻,加入浸冬菇水,再加入適量清水以武火煮滾,加入素蠔油、生抽及糖,用小火炆煮約10分鐘至食材軟腍。
    3. 加入麻油炒勻,粟粉加入適量水份成粟粉芡,加入鍋中煮至醬汁稍為濃稠即成。

    Snow fungus: Nourishes yin and moistens lungs, nourishes qi and stomach
    Lily bulb: clears the heart and relieves irritability, moistens the lungs to relieve coughing

    Stewed vegetables with snow fungus and lily bulb
    Ingredients: 1 snow fungus, 1 fresh lily bulb, 4 Shitake mushrooms, 1/2 carrot, 4 baby corns, 2 fresh bean curd sticks, 3 slices of ginger, 2 cloves of garlic
    Seasoning: 1 tablespoon vegetarian oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon light soy sauce, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, 1-2 teaspoons cornstarch

    Preparation:
    1. Rinse all the ingredients, soak the snow fungus in water until softened and drain, cut off the bottom and cut into pieces; peel off the fresh lily; soak the Shitake mushrooms in water until softened, remove the stalks and cut in half, reserve the soaked water; slice the peeled carrot into pieces; cut the baby corns into sections; slice garlic for later use.
    2. Add some oil into a heating wok, add ginger slices and garlic slices and saute, add the remaining ingredients and stir well, add the soaked mushroom water, then add an appropriate amount of water to bring to a boil, add the vegetarian oyster sauce, light soy sauce and sugar, simmer for about 10 minutes until the ingredients soften.
    3. Add sesame oil and stir well. Add the appropriate amount of water to the cornstarch to make a slurry. Add the slurry to the pot and cook until the sauce is slightly thick. Ready to serve.

    Week 4Vlog up!

    It's learning how to stop and smell the roses before they become sour fish. lots of things are going on, couple with accumulation of not proper rest, my body burnt out, felt incredibly tired, was not emotionally right and looked like a zombie on some days. This is where it brought me to think of the possible imbalances i may have due to being magnesium deficient. Learning time, here are the symptoms of being Magnesium deficient. I had 7 out of the symptoms, if i'm relating it to myself.

    1. Irritability
    2.Anxiety
    3.Lethargy
    4.Fatigue
    5.Memory problems
    6.Anorexia
    7.Loss of Appetite
    8.Nausea
    9.Vomiting
    10.Seizures
    11.Muscle weakness
    12.Muscle cramps
    13.Tremors
    14.Vertigo
    15.Difficulty swallowing
    16.Irregular or rapid heartbeat

    Bare in mind, this is base on what I already know due from health screening and also after going a psych test with my coach. Most of the time we don't realise we "may" be deficient cause getting magnesium naturally is difficult cause of foods beings processed, the soil conditions have changed in the last 50-60 years, and eating habits are the best.

    Anyway before i ramble on, best to watch the vlog :)

    Side note, I pay tribute to two amazing individuals in my vlog.
