Despite having Orthodontic tx completed few months ago, she is still unhappy about the length of her central incisors. We advised for Ortho treatment to intrude her centrals since that is her concern but she isn’t keen on re-treatment. She initially wanted her central incisors to be trimmed off as she dislike the length. After a round of discussion (I explained about the centrals’ length as well as her small laterals giving the illusion of “even larger centrals”),we decided to proceed with a mock up (“smile try-in”) without reducing the length of the front teeth and see how it looks. Although it means more work and clinical time, but it’s in patient’s best interest.

After mock up, she still think that the centrals are tad bit long and with the increased length of other teeth, it affected her phonation (speech) as well, so we proceed with Enameloplasty on her centrals as well as composite veneers from 4-4z

Conservative dentistry is our goal, but in certain cases where patient’s request is within reasonable range, I’ll let patient make the final decision since their set of smile ultimately belongs to them. 😁

夏天慎防皮膚癬
癬是真菌的一種，皮膚癬是由真菌感染引起的皮膚病，皮膚會痕癢、疼痛、表皮層變厚，出現紅印、水疱、白色鱗屑或脫皮等症狀，夏天天氣潮濕悶熱，有利於真菌生長，較侷促的部位例如腋下、大腿內側、臀部、腳趾隙間都比較容易生癬。至於哪些人容易生皮膚癬呢？個人衞生習慣差、營養不良、皮膚有損傷、大汗、個人免疫力低、慢性病患者如糖尿病患者等都是高危族。而從中醫角度來看，皮膚癬是因為身體受風、濕、熱邪侵犯皮膚引起，氣虛、濕熱體質人士都特別容易患上皮膚癬，一旦患上要按個別患者的體質治理，建議諮詢中醫師較穩妥。要注意患皮膚病期間不宜食用發物例如茄子、蘑菇、牛肉等，也不宜胡亂進補。

真菌有傳染性，皮膚癬亦很容易復發，所以就算痊癒了也要注意個人衞生，保持身體及衣物乾爽，運動大量出汗後要立即擦乾身體及更換衣物，在公共場所如泳池或健身室要避免赤腳行走，以免感染足癬（即香港腳）、甲癬（即灰甲）；不要與人共用毛巾、拖鞋等物品。

Beware of ringworm during summer
Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin. The skin will itch, hurt, and thicken and have symptoms like red marks, blisters, and white flakes or scaling skin. The humid weather in summer will further promote fungal growth, especially in areas like armpits, inner thighs, hips, and in between the toes.

What kind of people develop ringworm more easily? People who are malnourished and sweat easily, and those with poor personal hygiene, a weak immune system, damaged skin, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.

From the perspective of Chinese Medicine, ringworm forms when the pathogenic factors of wind, dampness, and heat intrude the skin. Individuals with the weak qi and damp heat body constitutions would have a higher risk of developing ringworm. Patients should seek medical treatment based on their conditions. Hence, it is best to consult registered and licensed Chinese medicine practitioner. Avoid consuming foods such as eggplant, mushroom, and beef as they might aggravate the skin condition. Also, avoid taking nourishing food unnecessarily.

Fungal infections can be contagious and can return easily as well. That is why we need to maintain good personal hygiene, keep our body and clothes dry, and wipe down the sweat after exercising and change into fresh clothes. Avoid walking barefoot in public areas like the swimming pool and the gym to prevent developing athlete's foot (tinea pedis) and onychomycosis. Also, do not share items like towels and slippers with others.

1995年。南アフリカ奥地、ガルツバーグの北200キロ。1980年代後半に、英雄かつ狂人とうたわれた一人の傭兵によって武装要塞国家OUTER HEAVEN（アウターヘブン）が作られた。彼は世界中の優秀な傭兵を集め、戦争を糧とし、兵士や軍備を世界の紛争地域へと「輸出」を開始する。危険すぎる戦闘国家の出現。大国はこの存在を否定できず、暗黙裡に認めてきた。

耳元で司令官BIGBOSSの声が響くと同時に特殊部隊FOXHOUNDの威信をかけた最も危険な潜入ミッションが開始された。

1995年の南アフリカを舞台に、主人公であるソリッド・スネークを操作して武装要塞国家OUTER HEAVEN（アウターヘブン）が開発したと言われる最終兵器「メタルギア」を破壊する事を目的としたゲーム。製作当時のアクションゲーム全般の傾向としては「装備や能力に物を言わせて、正面突破で敵を殲滅しながらゲームを進める」というものであったがこの作品は、なるべく戦闘を回避しながら敵から隠れながら進むのがテーマ。ソリッド・スネークのFOXHOUND隊員としての初陣となった事件「アウターヘブン蜂起」を描く。

開発はコナミ開発3課が行い、ゲーム・デザインは小島秀夫、音楽はディスクシステム用ソフト『グリーンベレー』（1987年）を手掛けた水谷郁やディスクシステム用ソフト『ファルシオン』（1987年）を手掛けたたけのうちしげひろの他に、古川元亮が担当している。
