Look at the verse Revelation 5:9 in the Greek interlinear to know that the twenty-four elders did not say “You purchased us”. It should be translated as “You purchased [people] to God by Your blood…”

Then, in Revelation 5:10, it should not be “us” or “we”. It should be “You have made them…they will reign.”

You see, the twenty-four elders are NOT the redeemed saints. The song they sang is not about themselves, but rather about the redeemed saints. The elders are not humans. Think about it: if these twenty-four elders were the twelve sons of Israel and the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, why is apostle John who was recounting the vision not part of the twenty four elders?

John is one of the most important apostles, having been the only one to lie on Jesus’ bosom during the last supper, and the only one who was present at the foot of the cross during Jesus’ crucifixion.
