Your “Suddenly” Moment Will Come
“Yahweh said to Joshua, “Behold, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor. All of your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days. Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. It shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the city wall shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up, every man straight in front of him.”” (Joshua 6:2-5 WEB)
Put yourself in the shoes of one of the children of Israel in Joshua’s army who was marching around the walls of Jericho.
Joshua did not tell them the full plan given to him by the Lord.
There was no gradual cracking in the walls, no sign that what they were doing was actually going to work.
Imagine how the soldiers of Jericho were mocking them from the top of the walls, thinking that what could they even achieve by walking around the walls and sounding the shofar.
On the seventh day of marching around the wall, you may be sweating and thinking, “Maybe this isn’t going to work. Maybe we’re just wasting time doing this. The soldiers of Jericho could be right—this is silly.”
Then out of nowhere, Joshua cries out “Shout!” and the walls fall flat suddenly when everyone shouts.
In this case, it was going to happen anyway because the Lord gave His word—and He will surely fulfill it.
Here’s the thing, whether that soldier was faithful or faithless, the walls were going to fall because God had promised to do it.
As you listen to God’s word, pray and keep persevering in faith, even if you run out of patience when you’re close to the breakthrough, God can even use the intercessory prayer of another believer to bring His plans for your life to pass.
The promises for believers written in the Bible, those are yours to have—every wall must fall flat before you.
The walls are still going to fall in that appointed moment. That “suddenly” moment is coming.
Till then, you can either praise Jesus in advance for it and be full of His rest and peace, or you can live worried and fearful until the moment comes.
Can you even achieve the least bit of good by worrying or being afraid?
If you can’t do anything about the challenge, just cast it to Jesus in prayer and rest in His faithfulness to bring you the victory.
That simple trust and agreeing with it using your spoken words, is faith!

The secret to the walls falling flat was that the children of Israel had been encircling their enemy while listening to the sound of the trumpets made of ram’s horns, for seven days.
The ram’s horn besides being a proclamation of war and victory, also represents proclaiming Jesus’ death at the cross (it’s through the death of a ram that you get its horn).
Joshua also stopped the children of Israel from talking, so they couldn’t complain about the lack of visible results across the seven days. In that way, they didn’t sabotage their progress through speaking words of death in their situation.
When you consistently hear about Jesus’ finished work at the cross, pure faith will arise in your heart to shout and see the walls blocking your blessings fall flat. The key is to reach that point of no unbelief.
