Confess Offenses? What For?

“and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.” (James‬ ‭5:15-16‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The passage above says to confess our offenses “to one another”—not to God. We already have forgiveness of sins from Him.

Many times, the self-condemnation in our heart hinders us from receiving healing because we don’t believe that God has forgiven us. People feel they deserve to be sick because of sins. “God is punishing me with this sickness because of that sin I committed,” they think.

The apostle James is saying that among the church, you can freely admit your offenses so that this hindrance is removed. When you are restored emotionally by the help of other believers who edify you with the truth of God’s word, unbelief will be purged, and the faith to receive healing will be effective.

In the end, it’s just about removing sin consciousness which is a huge hindrance to faith!

E.g. Rina is a tenacious woman. She never gives up.

昨日と今日、連続で朝方チョビ吉がやって来ました！
そして昨日、チョビ吉のTNRについて病院の方へ3回目の確認の電話をしましたが、残念ながら今回もNGで、今日も休診日なのでダメでした。

ただ、ここ最近になって明らかにチョビ吉が来る日が増えて来ているので、週3日以上来るようならサブ吉やボス吉と同じように予約を入れて行おうかと考えています。
