If we find ourselves moving through the day inspired, inflow and productive or distracted, stressed, and generally reactive, we've created a system for it. Whether we realize it or not. In the past, my morning ritual consisted of jumping on social media, watching the news and feeling anxious about the situation or rushing to start work. It was the perfect system to start the day off uninspired and reactive. If you want a different result, put in a different system. One of the best systems I've found is "The morning ritual". It is designed to start your day in an inspired way. My morning ritual consists of coffee outside, journalling, becoming present, enjoying the sun, the morning breeze and the visuals, sounds of nature. Then it's feeding the mind with 10-30 minutes of reading for personal development or the spirit. And finishing off with a workout, healthy meal before we jump into work. The travel industry experienced a significant downturn in 2020 due to the continuous lockdown and closure of both domestic and international borders to curb the spread of COVID-19. The movement control order introduced throughout most of 2020 has impacted the revenue for many travel companies. . While there is no way to tell exactly what the economic damage from the global COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic will be, there is widespread agreement among economists that it will have severe negative impacts on the global economy at large especially more so for the travel industry. . All is not lost, air travel demand saw a recovery in summer 2021 with RPK increasing on average by 312.4% in May 2021 as compared to the same period in 2020. . Although still at 62.7% lower compared to the pre-covid period, the significant growth reflects a potential increase in demand in 2022 and a faster than expected recovery. . Market such as the US domestic travel strengthened further in May (26.2% lower than May 2019) and the pace of recovery is expected to increase in the summer months. US domestic market is expected to achieve full recovery by the end of this year. . Bookings for international travel jumped by c.80% in June compared to the lowest point in April 2021, indicating a revival of demand for summer international travel. Since passengers are booking their trips close to the travel date, the recovery for summer travel would gain further momentum if travel restrictions are lifted. . It's time Malaysia open up the borders, both domestically being the state borders, as well as internationally to allow both inflow and outflow of travelers. It's time we let the industry prosper once more as it did pre-covid. .
