SAPPY POST WARNING!!! Today marks my last day at McGill University at the Montreal Neurological Institute, and above is a picture of an immunostaining of the hippocampus (that I took!). I find it quite coincidental and appropriate that a brain structure I have been studying for the past 4 years, critical for learning and memory, lends itself so well to my other passion of pedagogy and teaching. I want to thank all of the friends, mentors, and students that I have had the privilege to meet for making my experience in Montreal an incredible one. Despite the enormous amount of complaining I did (sorry not sorry), I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. It’s bittersweet to be leaving but I can’t wait to continue being a forever student 😂 It’s been a slice Montreal - onwards and (hopefully) upwards! P.S. For those staining connoisseurs, blue is a Hoescht stain and red is staining for beta-galactosidase. 🧠
