My favourite restaurant in Vancouver - The Acorn Most of the dishes are Vegan, Gluten Free, some of them are Raw. Love this dessert, it is called Banana 🍌🍌🍌 It is made from - Maple-pecan crumble - Banana - Date caramel - Coconut-vanilla cream - Zimt dark chocolate - Chrysanthemum sauce The point is, they are so delish that i think im eating some treats made from bad stuff!!! First surprise: the green sauce, which is made from Chrysanthemum, and it is sweet yet pure. Second surprise: the purple flower is not just for garnishment, it is Anise flower 🌸🌸🌸 i usually only used Anise seed for cooking (in Chinese it is 八角）but The Acorn has genius chef, they made good use of flowers to add life and flavour to the dish. London | Duck and Waffle at Duck & Waffle! You'd better make a visit if you happen to be in London because they open 24/7! We first took the elevator straight to 40th floor, the ride was fast like seconds but that still frightened us a bit as we are acrophobics. We were then brought to a table right by the window which gave us a stunning view of London. Coming for a decent brunch, we each ordered a Duck and Waffle which came with a crispy duck confit, fried duck egg, Belgian waffle and mustard maple syrup on the side. The skin of Duck Confit was crispy and crunchy while meat was extremely tender and juicy. The mustard maple syrup was a nice garnishment to the duck and waffle, well maple syrup and waffle are always good friends isn't it? We drizzled the syrup over the duck and waffle and that gave us an explosion of savory and sweet. Don't forget to pay attention to the fried duck egg! Nicely fried to sunny side up, it provided additional flavors and textures to the dish. #portfoodio_london
