Do you ever notice that sometimes the lights in your house flicker or dim when certain electronic devices in your house are turned on? This could be a voltage sag in your power delivery which could drastically shorten the lifespan of your electrical appliances.

Now that we both are working from home and we are turning on our PCs, speakers, phones and printers all the time. These instances of flickers can even cause our PC to crash, we can’t afford that!

Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR) is the answer. It is a device designed to regulate voltage automatically. Without an automatic voltage regulator, voltage can sag, spike or surge and damage electrical devices. We are using the APC Line-R LS series by Schneider Electric. It has built-in surge protection that protects our devices from damaging surges and spikes.

The APC Line-R LS series is equipped with safety shutters - very important because we have an active toddler running around at home. This feature will not only protect kids, but also any users from accidental contact with unused outlets.

If you encountered horizontal darken lines while filming a video, your camera is not broken. It just there might be an ambient light source is flickering and being captured by your camera. The easiest way to deal with this, is to lower your shutter speed, so it either matchup or be lower than the rate it flickers.
