Masjid al-Salih Tala'i, yang dibina oleh Fatimiyah, Raja al-Salih Tala'i 'ibn Ruzzik pada 1160 / 554-555 AH semasa khalifah al-Fa'iz, adalah masjid Fatimid yang kedua dibina oleh seorang wazir(menteri), yang pertama ialah Masjid al-Aqmar. Pada asalnya ia diilhamkan sebagai makam untuk menempatkan kepala Saidina Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib (cucu Baginda Nabi Muhammad SAW), yang dibawa ke Kairo dari makamnya di Asqolan oleh raja ketika ia diancam oleh serangan yang akan datang dari Tentara Salib. Tetapi khalifah memelihara peninggalan ini di sebuah tempat di istana Fatimiyah, yang sekarang menjadi sebahagian daripada Masjid al-Husain apabila istana itu musnah.
