My weekly food column @appledailyhk last week : 「My Tasting Notes On Henri Jayer (part 2) 」 Cros-Parantoux is Henri’s Jayer’s iconic work. This plot of land was originally used to grow artichokes. During World War II, the Godfather of Burgundy survived by eating the artichokes grown here. After the war, he refused to eat any more artichokes – he had had enough. In the early 50’s, he bought part of the Cros-Parantoux. However, removing the roots of artichokes was a grueling task. It took him the entire year to complete the job. Another challenge emerged – the soil contained rock-hard limestone. In order to plough the land, he had to blast the limestone with explosives. He did that 400 times! After which, he spent much time clearing the rock debris. Long video from my leg day today but I wanted to post it for many reasons The toes to bar has been an exercise I always thought was not possible for me to achieve until it happened today I couldn’t believe it so I recorded all the subsequent sets after I first got it while trying Last week I tried and I didn’t even get it Today it happened 😭 I got close to unlocking some skills and have gotten better with some of the exercises I’ve been putting work into The pistol squats form has improved massively and I’m so happy aboit all of it 💖 this was the best attempt at dragon pistol squats today 🥺😭 one step closer to unlocking this bad bitch maybe it’ll happen early next year (started training mid/end 🧐 aug 2020) 💖 I’m excited about where I end this year wrt everything I’m putting work into Most importantly I’ve learnt consistency brings results when you least expect it 💖muscle up explosives chest to bar. Need a lot of work but I’m trying my best Form tips and advice welcome :) Yesterday I was very grumpy with me spoiling my YouTube video edit and I got annoyed at everything I didn’t even train legs yesterday and ate a cheat meal 😭🥺 But I enjoyed the meal with my friend I skipped training so I trained legs tiday (Monday’s are my rest Days normally) Today was my first day of periods and I know now why it was so hard to control my cravings last week so much so I kept binging on protein wafers 😭 Today I’m more focussed and this happened so I’m really hapoy today :) Included my squats sets too (nothing special but I’d love to end this year with 70 kg plus working sets ) 💖🥺🙏🏻

We went to Lamma Island last week - the first time ever for me (and the kids of course) The third largest island in HK, it is home to several thousand people who have created a unique vibe which transports you away from the hustle bustle lifestyle of the concrete jungle and takes you to a laid back, almost hippie type of island style atmosphere. Full of cool cafes and eateries alongside traditional Chinese places, you will also find plenty of handicraft and healthy lifestyle stores. One of the stand out features of the island was the variety of foliage along the walks. Beautiful flowers colouring the pathways as we walked to the beach, it was certainly a surprising and welcome change from the sometimes boring landscape we get in HK. Lamma Island - a 35mins ferry ride away from Central Pier - is home to a significant expat community, who get about on foot or bicycle (no cars), nesting green turtles, caves where WWII kamikaze Japanese soldiers rigged their boats with explosives, a big power station with three unsightly chimneys, some wind power windmills, and of course famously where the legendary Chow Yun Fat grew up, the king of all actors from HK. I will like to come back and discover more of this island in the future, maybe even stay here a couple of days with the family 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 BTW if any of you know the names of these flowers do let us know 😊 🌺 🌸🌼 #lamma #island #hongkong #foliage #flowers #beautiful
