It's been a difficult year and it's only May. From caring for a family member after a stroke to an endometrial cancer scare; 2021 has actually been a harder year for me and Ben than 2020. I've spent many a day like this, snuggled up to Tina surrounded by pillows in efforts to simply refill. I've definitely put on weight and, honestly, I'm still learning to be okay with it. Not just during this challenging year but during the entire pandemic I'd say my greatest lesson that I've learned is being kind to myself. Especially as #women we are bombarded with societal pressures to look, be, and act in a certain way - still to this day we are systematically conditioned to be hyper critical on our appearance and behavior. The most liberating thing I've come to realize is that I have so much more to offer the world than my body. Feeling this way is definitely not lasting - after all, emotions are transient. There are definitely days where I don't like the way I look but I am learning to accept that my preconceived notions of a "healthy" body are product of society. I have had a wild 31 years with this vessel and hating on it has done nothing so far... so it's time to try a bit of #love and #kindness. #bodypositivity #womenempoweringwomen
