"AMBILKAN saya pisau, biar saya bunuh diri sendiri..."

Siapa yang tidak terkejut jika itu dituturkan oleh orang terdekat dengan kita, apatah lagi jika ayat itu disebut oleh seorang kanak-kanak berusia 9 tahun.

Kanak-kanak lain pada usia itu seharusnya sedang bergembira bermain, belajar dan mengenal dunia.

Namun, itulah yang didedahkan oleh ibu kepada seorang kanak-kanak yang dilahirkan dengan gangguan genetik achondroplasia atau lebih dikenali sebagai dwarfism (kerdil).

Sejak Selasa lalu, Yarraka Bayles, ibu kepada Quaden Bayles yang berasal dari Brisbane, Australia berkongsi video anak lelakinya itu yang menangis dan mahu mengakhiri nyawa sendiri akibat dibuli.

Menerusi video berdurasi 6:46 itu, Quaden menyatakan dia mahu menikam dirinya sendiri dan mahu orang membunuhnya. 😥

Its already episode 4 of #Sentuhanharapan tonight and I will bring you to Manila and find out the discrimination faced by those born with dwarfism, born with disproportionate limbs, they find it hard to be accepted by their own community. Or even getting a proper job although qualifying for it.

I haven't visited and seen a slum in my life until today. And even though it's been a few hours since I left the slum, the place where Maria lives, I cannot get the filthy living conditions out of my head.
I thought I had seen all kinds of poverty when I went to the mountains of north Thailand and Tanzania. But obviously today just proved to me that I haven't.
