2018-05-26 16:05:53A peaceful day in Patan. Staying in Patan heritage site is surely something you shouldn't missed if you travel Kathmandu, Nepal.
Wake up and you get to walk on street way back centuries ago... It's truly awesome.

Patan Durbar Square is situated at the centre of the city of Lalitpur in Nepal. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. One of its attraction is the ancient royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur resided.
The Durbar Square is a marvel of Newar architecture. The Square floor is tiled with red bricks. There are many temples and idols in the area. The main temples are aligned opposite of the western face of the palace. The entrance of the temples faces east, towards the palace. There is also a bell situated in the alignment beside the main temples. The Square also holds old Newari residential houses. There are various other temples and structures in and around Patan Durbar Square built by the Newa People.

19年前的今天，發生了舉世震驚的尼泊爾王室血案。

許多人認為，王室血案是改變尼泊爾歷史的關鍵。由於畢蘭德拉(Birendra)國王、迪潘德拉王子(Dipendra)死亡，賈南德拉(Gyanendra)接任王位，其專權的作為才導致國王下台呼聲高漲，並於2008年5月28日終結了王室、改行共和。

連結的這篇文章除了回顧此歷史事件，也有王室成員圖表，可以清楚了解王室成員的家族關係、是否在血案現場以及死亡或倖存。

引起我興趣的是這連結中的影片。從前王室有許多產業，其中部份由尼泊爾信託(Nepal Trust)接管，Gorkana Forest就是其一。位於加德滿都市郊的Gokarna森林曾是王室狩獵保留區，蔥鬱的林地現有部份屬高級度假村Gokarna Forest Resort，吸引各地遊人前來；但也有部份就這麼被人遺忘，日漸破落，如影片中這座昔日王室於夏日造訪居住的宅邸。

我也忍不住想起波卡拉的Ratna Mandir。不知來過波卡拉的人們有沒有發現，有一條旅館林立的街道，我們稱作「Durbar Marg」。Durbar是王宮之意，但波卡拉有王宮嗎？

在費娃湖邊，有個高牆圍繞、守衛森嚴的Ratna Mandir，是本地人俗稱的「Palace」，也就是昔日王室成員來到波卡拉時的住處，幾年前就已決議要規劃為博物館對外開放，去年還曾沸沸揚揚地說要趕上2020尼泊爾觀光年，只不過隨著疫情的擴散，2020觀光年已喊停，開放之日也不知再延到何時了。我找到了一個Ratna Mandir的影片，雖然是尼泊爾語，但仍然可以窺見大概。
