【Hummmmp day】 It’s 1st Sep, end of summer holiday, also the beginning of a new month, just so happen to be a hump day too. All suggests a pretty rough day 😞 Once my favorite cafe with open bright space and super chill vibe, sadly, it left me rather disappointed at my recent visit. Despite keeping their price flat, they apparently adjusted the quantity as well as quality of their food. Flat White w/ oat milk | $40 Build your own Breakfast: Scrambled egg, avocado, fries and sourdough | $80 What once was a generous portion is now significantly downsized, a much smaller piece of sourdough, a small avocado without much seasoning (as opposed to flavorsome one before) and a few pieces of veg salad. Most disappointing of all is their fries which I praised highly before, although they remain freshly fried, still crispy and fluffy, they’re much thicker (personally love their original skinny fries) and in much smaller portion. 16th August marks the last day of Obon and in Kyoto festivals like Toro Nagashi (first photo) and Gozan No Okuribi (2nd photo) are held to guide visiting souls back. Obon period actually brings me peace knowing my late daughter could come visit us and we'll get to send her off ourselves during Toro Nagashi down by Katsuragawa.
