Vanguard資產管理在2018五月21日的新聞稿中宣布，預計在今年第三季推出全球債券市場ETF。

全球債券市場一直是美國ETF的一個空缺。

投資人假如要用一支ETF投資全球股票市場，有像Vanguard Total World Stock ETF(美股代號:VT)的標的可以使用。假如要用一支ETF投資全球REIT市場，有iShares Global REIT ETF(美股代號:REET)可用。

但美國ETF業界，一直沒有一支可供投資人投資全球債券市場的ETF。Vanguard的新ETF將解決這個問題。

新聞稿中也特別提到:

The ETF will be the industry’s first U.S.-domiciled index product offering investors access to the entire global investment-grade bond universe in a single portfolio.

這將是美國當地ETF，第一個可以供投資人用一個標的就投資全球投資級債券市場的選擇。
