The God Effect

“I will send my terror before you, and will confuse all the people to whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. I will send the hornet before you, which will drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before you. I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the animals of the field multiply against you. Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and inherit the land.” (Exodus‬ ‭23:27-30‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

There is a theory called the “Butterfly Effect”, whereby small causes can result in huge effects in weather.

A distant butterfly flapping its wings can affect a tornado that happens several weeks later.

If tiny changes can create huge change, then it makes sense that God drives out your enemies little by little, in a way that does not disrupt the balance in the world in a way that is disadvantageous for you. Our God is a God of order, not of chaos.

We all want things to happen fast and everything at once, but it may not be good for us.

Look back at how far you’ve come, how many problems you’ve conquered—even those that seemed insurmountable at the time. There is a lot to give thanks for.

The children of Israel were so busy murmuring and complaining about what they lacked that they could not see all the good things that God was already doing for them.

Instead of complaining laterally to Moses, if only they had looked up and asked God to provide for their needs. He would have gladly supplied their needs by His Grace.

God chased out many of the giants and natives in the land by sending hornets to sting them. He struck them with supernatural fear and confusion. What Israel faced were the cowering remnants—not them at full force.

Your Abba God is driving out your enemies little by little, in a very controlled and deliberate way. Little changes, but a drastic result in the end for your good. I’d like to call it the “God Effect”.

He is preparing the way for you, thinning out the power of the enemy, so that you gain the maximum benefit from applying your faith in real-life situations, with minimal pain.

Rejoice by faith, for God is working to help you increase and inherit your possessions. In Jesus’ name, you will see yourself delivered out of your troubles!
