    【Bridging The Digital Divide For Elderly | 疫情下長者數碼經驗】

    Under the pandemic, digitalisation has accelerated and become part of our everyday life. For the elderly, how can they adopted to these new challenges?

    The routine services to the elderly has been disrupted during the pandemic. The elderly have to encounter unprecedented difficulties in their ordinary life, from Covid-testing, vaccination, regular medical appointments, or even access to daily necessities. In light of this drastic changes, how should our elderly react and how the digital technologies could help them to cope with these issues?

    We and Solis Strategy are co-organising a webinar on 6 August 2021. We have invited speakers from AlipayHK, Facebook, Senior Citizen Home Safety Association and the medical sector, to discuss the real-life problems the elderly faced during the pandemic and share their thoughts on how technology could help everyone in this difficult situation.

    This pre-recorded webinar will be posted on our social media platform. We hope this would help the community to understand the improvements technology can possibly bring to us all.

    Stuttgart/Las Vegas. Daimler's trade fair exhibition at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las
    Vegas (CES; 8 to 11 January 2019) will be focusing fully on the outlook on the future of
    mobility. Highlights include the world première of the new Mercedes-Benz CLA, US premières
    of the battery-electric Mercedes-Benz EQC (combined power consumption:
    22.2 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km, provisional figures)1 as well as the
    revolutionary Vision URBANETIC mobility concept plus essential news about the Daimler
    Trucks' strategy for automated trucks. After the Mercedes-Benz press conference, Sajjad
    Khan, Member of the Divisional Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars, CASE and Vice President
    Digital Vehicle & Mobility, will be giving an insight into the current developments within the
    context of the Daimler-wide CASE digitalisation strategy – Connected, Autonomous,
    Shared & Service and Electric Drive. In the afternoon, Wilfried Porth, Member of the Board of
    Management of Daimler AG and Human Resources and Director of Labour Relations at
    Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz Vans, will be explaining the future of mobility using Vision
    URBANETIC as an example.

    On the day before (Monday, 7 January), Daimler Trucks will be providing an overview of the
    most recent company and technology developments at the Keep Memory Alive Center
    (KMAC) and will be announcing the company's next steps within the context of automated
    driving. Media representatives will subsequently be given the opportunity to experience the
    most recent products from the North American truck and bus/coach portfolio at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

    The new Mercedes-Benz CLA will be showcased to the global public for the very first time, featuring its evolved MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, a technological innovation that premièred at CES in 2018. New functions have already been added a mere 12 months later. As a result, the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupé is not only the most emotional vehicle of its class, it is also a highly intelligent automotive specimen: the new CLA offers a number of clever solutions, from the MBUX Interior Assistant that identifies operation requests on the basis of movements to lend the vehicle interior a certain level of intelligence, to augmented reality for navigation and the ability to understand indirect voice commands as well as ENERGIZING COACH featuring individual fitness recommendations.

    The latest results of BMW’s ongoing product offensive are taking centre stage at the brand’s Mondial de l’Automobile 2018 show stand in Paris. Emotion-packed design, pioneering technology and an even more richly engaging form of driving pleasure define the character of the new models BMW is presenting at the most important date on Europe’s 2018 car show calendar. The fresh arrivals introduce the brand’s new design language to a number of vehicle segments and represent significant advances in the areas of digitalisation, operation, sustainability and driving dynamics. For example, visitors to the Paris show will discover the first models to feature the new BMW Operating System 7.0, which creates a fully digital grouping of instrument cluster and Control Display and allows system operation to be adapted even more precisely to the driver’s personal preferences.

    The BMW Group is set to revolutionise driving pleasure with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. From March 2019, BMW drivers and passengers will be joined by an intelligent, digital character that responds to the prompt “Hey BMW”. This will mark the start of a new era for the BMW Group in which drivers will increasingly be able to operate their car and access its functions and information simply by speaking. Further innovations include BMW Laserlight and the Steering and lane control assistant, which are also available for other new models from the brand, plus the unique Reversing Assistant, which takes over steering for reversing manoeuvres in tight areas where visibility is restricted

    The selection of series-production models due for market launch in the near future and innovative technology developments preparing to greet visitors to the Paris show from 4 – 14 October 2018 also reflect the rigorous implementation of NUMBER ONE - NEXT. The BMW Group’s corporate strategy spotlights development fields particularly relevant to the company’s future performance, i.e. design, automated driving, connectivity, electrification and services. The advances in these areas presented in Paris underscore the premium carmaker’s leading role in shaping the future of personal mobility. Also of key importance are BMW’s model offensive in the luxury segment (launched with the show premiere of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe), the continued expansion of the BMW X model family with the debut of the new BMW X5 and the addition of the new BMW M5 Competition (fuel consumption combined: 10.8 – 10.7 l/100 km (26.2 – 26.4 mpg imp); CO2 emissions combined: 246 – 243 g/km) to the BMW M GmbH line-up.
