You may have seen my posts since yesterday on this unfortunate news of the tournament organised by Djokovic. Dimitrov and his team, Coric and Troicki were tested positive. Djokovic flew back to Belgrade then got tested and now Djokovic and his wife have tested positive Covid-19. The reason I have been sharing these news is that the fight is not over. They did not practice social distancing, hugging high fives, hand shakes and partying and no masks. "We organized the tournament at the moment when the virus has weakened, believing that the conditions for hosting the Tour had been met. Unfortunately, this virus is still present, and it is a new reality that we are still learning to cope and live with.” - Djokovic 😔 We have to act responsibly. We must remember why we went on a lockdown for 87 days and now we are in recovery phase. We have to remember how much the frontliners have sacrificed for us and continue to do so. Whilst international tennis shut down due to Covid-19, Djokovic organised his charity tournament despite all of this. From the photos seen all over social media there was zero social distancing, high fives, handshakes, hugs even amongst the players and the spectators were sitting packed in a stadium with no social distancing and no masks. Two players are now confirmed positive Covid-19. Everyone in touch with them have to be tested and self isolation for 2 weeks. I hope this serves as a warning to everyone that the fight is far from over. That we must absolutely stick to social distancing and wearing masks and contactless.
