Poor Ella Grace caught a stomach bug and couldn’t keep any fluids down. Even though we saw the doctor in the afternoon, she was quickly dehydrated in just a few hours.
Sharing this because sometimes as parents, it’s hard to know when to panic. Am I overreacting?!?! is something I know mamas ask a lot.
But thank goodness, I listened to my mama gut and took her to the hospital when she started to just not look well and you know your mama instinct when you just know? Always always listen to it.
They quickly hooked her up to an IV, got her the meds and saline she needed and she looks and feels so much better already.
Sharing because I think sometimes, especially with little ones, it’s easy to forget how quickly they can get slightly to severely dehydrated.
For Ella Grace, in just less than six hours she was:
Very pale
Not peeing
Clammy
High fever but toes and fingers were white and cold
Extremely lethargic
Cracked dry lips
Very nauseous
But my most important tip is WASH YOUR HANDS!
Little ones pick up all kinds of crazy bugs so the best thing you can do is prevention! ❤️
Here’s to a quick recovery and lots and lots of hand washing, broth, and vit c!
