日本設計師好朋友 Drill Design 最近在日本展出了他們幫鋼鐵加工工廠「井口産業株式会社」設計的全新戶外傢俱品牌「High Collar」。

這個品牌有三個產品系列，分別是戶外餐桌椅組「POOL」、角落長凳組「TERRACE」、邊桌邊椅組「CASCADE」，應用在各種不同的戶外情境中。這個品牌有一個共通點，利用懸臂結構（cantilever）設計讓椅腳取代桌腳，因此釋放出桌下空間，整體造型看起來更為簡潔，這個品牌也因為得力於結構設計可以延伸出不同造型，因此三個系列都可以依照空間需求客製化延伸尺寸，不會受限於發售的座椅數量。我就很想買一組POOL放在自家陽台。

提到傢俱設計能有客製化延展性，Drill Design 提到背後設計的想法讓我非常心有戚戚焉。
.
一開始廠商希望Drill Design 設計一些「有梗的設計傢俱」，所謂的梗，不外乎就是設計一些機構讓產品具有變形的能力，可以移動、折疊、組合等變化形式，讓使用者能自由依照自己的需求來變化家具樣貌，藉以達成個人化的目的。

會有這樣的風潮肇因於1960年代後期，歐洲設計師設計了很多類似這樣的傢俱，引起世界很多設計媒體競相報導轉發，設計師也獲得知名度，亞洲設計師也看了這樣的作品心生嚮往，開始想設計類似的家具。不過回首歷史，Drill Design 觀察到，像是Joe Colombo 設計的「Multichair」、「Tube Chair」，可以變化出十幾種不同造型，也被MOMA 收藏為現代家具，但像這樣的設計卻無法普及到大眾生活裡，最後只能成一種藝術收藏。

Drill Design 認為，倒也不是不能設計一些具有複合功能的家具，一般人對於家具的使用情境想像較為貧乏，最好是以模組化的思考，預先幫他想好一些可以加上去的配件，給予一些自由度就好，這樣比較能讓產品有機會被普羅大眾使用。Joe Colombo 或許也認知到這件事，後來他設計的「Boby Wagon」就賣得很好，使用者只需要依照自己的需求增加層數就好，直到現在都還是有消費市場。

好設計到底是什麼？是否有梗才叫做好設計？怎樣的設計才能長久販售？
.
簡單的設計當然是可以長久販售的方法之一，但先把使用情境設計好，在一些情境中給予消費者適當的自由度，依照他的需求讓他們去購買配件，這樣會比直接給他100%自由度的產品來得能拓展市場。
.
「High Collar」也是在這樣的邏輯下所設計出來的全新家具品牌。實在好喜歡Drill Design的設計哲學啊！

【 格外樓神 ─ 一家之主 】

屋宇署與香港電台電視部聯合製作的新劇《格外樓神》，由RubberBand演唱的主題曲《We Can We Can Fix It》，內有一句點題歌詞：「We can we can fix it／解開結」。「結」者，困難和問題也，其實在劇中出現的各種屋宇署職員，包括結構工程師、技術主任、屋宇測量師、技術主任等等，他們要解開的，除了是樓宇結構安全問題的結，還有平民百姓牽涉其中的心結。然而過程之中，這班公務員是否能夠設身處地為他人着想，抑或只是處處跟足規矩辦事，但求準時收工，避免孭鑊？日前（30／1）播出的第四集《一家之主》，編劇似乎想藉此帶出討論。

故事講述由泥鯭@RubberBand飾演的屋宇署結構工程師曾近平（Dr. 曾），熟讀《建築物條例》的一字一句，不過總是過於執着，以為只要拋出這些條款，市民就會明白，所以才會發生第一幕 ── 因為髮型屋老闆根本不知道何謂《建築物條例》第24條（在網上找到條文，因為字眼相當專業，細看下真的不太明白），情急之下拿着鉸剪指向Dr. 曾和隨行的屋宇署技術主任（結構）陳婉儀（Mika）。在這個「危險時刻」，Dr. 曾依然堅持要講出細節：「根據法例要求，呢個商場嘅走火通道，必須最少有一點二米闊，咁而家你個舖頭改建咗喎，足足令佢窄咗27cm，希望你可以盡快處理咗佢。」但Dr. 曾沒有提出最重要一點：這種復原工程，需要是業主承擔，幸好身旁的Mika說出來，髮型屋老闆立即笑逐顏開的離去。

從畫面上看，Dr. 曾對於老闆的激動反應完全沒有感覺，可能是他經驗太豐富，類似情況見過太多，覺得無需要動氣，但亦有可能，是他覺得自己只不過依足規矩做事，對此，Mika內心相當不認同，其他同事也笑言：「Dr. 曾係機械人！」言即不懂變通，沒有同理心，執行職務事沒有代入他人的處境細想，在普通人眼中，就是作風官僚。Dr. 曾這種處事手法，之後發生深水埗東京街安美樓的居民身上，該大廈樓齡達50年，屋宇署收到投訴，指該大廈的懸臂式平板底部（類似騎樓底，英文為Cantilever，行內人稱「趷雞」）有石屎剝落，上司下令，需要盡快得到法庭「封樓令」，封樓檢查，並游說、安排所有住戶遷出，由於涉及家園和錢銀問題，這班居民理所當然堅拒搬走，這就是今次屋宇署職員需要解開的結。

劇情細節不多說，反正故事發展的方向，尤其是Dr. 曾終於開竅，大家都會估得到，不過現實中，又有多少公務員能夠真的像Dr. 曾那樣，處理日常問題時，會嘗試放下手上的死板規則，多加一點同理心，想像一下其他人的感受？看完這一集，再想起近日時常看到封區強制檢疫的新聞，感覺相當諷刺。另一點要留意，很多時，這類港台短篇「功能劇」很難有戲可演，但在編劇張飛帆的處理下，今次演員確實有得發揮，特別是Dr. 曾勸告德哥一家離開的兩幕後，出奇地有點張力，幾位演員都沒有因為篇幅短而「揸流灘」，除了泥鯭，張滿源、彭珮嵐，還有陳凱詠，演繹時能夠勾勒出角色性格，而現時身為歌手的Jace，看看今集《格》，相比多年前的《瑪嘉烈與大衛：前度 —— 特別篇》 （http://bit.ly/2MXRPqi） ，她明顯進步了很多，其潛質愈來愈明顯。據知Jace已拍畢港台另一套全新連續劇《電梯小姐》，而且是主角，令人更加期待。
