How many veneers do you need to improve a smile? The more the merrier? 🤔

In this rather interesting case, we did 4-unit veneers to improve the smile arch & fullness. Let’s get in depth.

To achieve this result:
Smile Design • In-Office Whitening • No-Prep Composite Veneers

We initially planned for 6-units composite veneer for the patient after her in-office dental whitening. During her digital smile design planning, I noticed that the modification of her canines are quite minimal and serves mainly complement the buccal fullness of the anterior veneers.

Now...would you go ahead and place veneers on this patient’s canine?

Fast forward to the day of appointment. Instead of placing veneer right away when patient came in, we took some extra time and did a 3-3 mock-up for her. Then we proceeded to remove the mock up on 13 & 23 , then 12 & 22, and let her decide again. After her proper contemplation & our discussion, we decided to proceed with composite veneer placement only from 12-22 to restore her smile arch. Veneer placement was done with @gc_malaysia G-aenial Universal Injectable Composite (Shade A1), and minor touch ups with @dental2u composite instruments.

The greatest part in this treatment (apart from having a bubbly and supportive patient😆) is that we get to decide the treatment plan together. Most often patients trust dentists’ advises but I find the communication turns out better when we can decide alongside our patient in their treatment plan. Patients are often happy with the results as well knowing that they are a part of the team!

Did you know that cute beagle you saw at the airport sniffing your luggage likely came from the United States? Since 2002, 23 U.S.-trained beagles and mix-breed beagles have been imported into Taiwan and have become part of Taiwan’s defense against invasive plant pests and animal diseases. Fifteen of these canines remain active and are a key component of Taiwan’s current quarantine safeguards against the introduction of African swine fever (ASF). These beagles are an another example of the excellent working relationship that exists between animal and plant health regulatory authorities in the United States and Taiwan and make an effective contribution to keeping Taiwan’s production agriculture and natural ecosystems safe from foreign-origin plant pests and animal diseases.
