#我駐美代表處更名臺灣代表處？

英國的金融時報報導，美國正考慮將我國駐美代表處的名稱，從 #臺北經濟文化辦事處 更名為 #臺灣代表處。

其實在國民黨執政時期，我國對外館的名稱就有幾個不同的等級，最高等級當然希望採用中華民國大使館／辦事處，再來就是臺灣代表處，再往下才是臺北經濟文化辦事處。

如果更名成功，當然是臺美關係很大的一個進展，對於我們推動 #兩岸雙重承認，也是一個成功的方向。

Multiple people briefed on internal US discussions said Washington was seriously considering a request from Taiwan to change the name of its mission in the US capital from “Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office” (Tecro) to “Taiwan Representative Office”.

Kurt Campbell, White House Asia adviser, has backed the change, according to two people with knowledge of the discussions. One said the request had wide support inside the National Security Council and from state department Asia officials.

消息指出，Kurt Campbell（白宮亞洲顧問 White House Asia adviser）及許多官員都支持改名。

最終決定尚未定案，若同意，此行政命令將需要由拜登總統親自簽署。
目前美台灣政府尚無發表評論；駐華盛頓的北京大使則表達堅決反對。

Saya telah diberitahu oleh YB Khairy Jamaluddin dan pegawai Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi bahawa Johor telah menerima 165,000 dos vaksin pada hari ini untuk menjadikan jumlah keseluruhan sebanyak 695,370 dos untuk bulan Julai. Johor sepatutnya menerima 1.293 juta dos untuk bulan Julai tetapi terdapat kelewatan dari Pfizer dan Sinovac. Walaubagaimanapun, sebanyak 570,000 dos dijangka akan tiba pada 29 Julai.

Saya telah dimaklumkan oleh kerajaan negeri bahawa mereka boleh memberi sehingga 60,000 dos vaksin sehari tetapi purata kadar pemberian kini adalah lebih kurang 30,000 sehari pada minggu yang lepas. Sebab utama adalah kerana ketersediaan vaksin.

Saya telah menitahkan kepada kerajaan negeri dan agensi-agensi yang terlibat untuk segera mencari kaedah untuk mempertingkatkan lagi kadar vaksinasi termasuk mendapatkan vaksin secara langsung.

Bangsa Johor telah melaksanakan tanggungjawab mereka dalam aktiviti pendaftaran vaksin dengan 91% populasi dewasa telah mendaftar. Ini juga telah dibantu oleh inisiatif Southern Volunteers yang telah membantu lebih dari setengah juta Bangsa Johor untuk mendaftar.

I completely understand the grouses of Johoreans that the vaccination rate in the state has been slow. It needs to be sped up immediately to ensure we can reach herd immunity and allow the Johor economy to recover sooner.

I have been informed by YB Khairy Jamaluddin and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation officials that Johor received another 165,000 vaccine doses today to bring the total for July to 695,370 doses. Johor was supposed to receive 1.293 million doses for July but there has been a delay from Pfizer and Sinovac. However, 570,000 more doses are due to arrive by 29th July.

I have been briefed by the state government that they are capable of vaccinating up to 60,000 doses per day but the current vaccination rate averaged around 30,000 a day the past week, largely due to the availability of vaccines. I have ordered the state goverment and respective agencies to swiftly find methods to further increase the vaccination rate including sourcing for vaccines directly.

Johoreans have done their part in regards to the registration for vaccines with 91% of the adult population registered. This was helped by the vaccination drive by Southern Volunteers that registered more than half a million Johoreans.

This simple Chicken Soup with Oyster Sauce was inspired by my late dad. My parents divorced when I was 14 and my brother was 9. At what I consider a tender age of 38, my father had to singlehandedly raise two young kids by himself. Although my brother and I were fairly independent, my dad tried to shower us his love in his own ways and one of his ways was to cook for us over the weekends. This soup was one of his most frequently cooked dishes because I told him I loved this soup. Unfortunately, I cannot remember fully the recipe my dad told me but I just briefed Roland based on what I can remember. This soup may be a simple soup to you but it carries so much meaning and fond memories for me.
