For the 67th edition, we bring you an extra-special Live recording from naarm’s own Lisa Lerkenfeldt. Lisa is a multi-disciplinary artist, creating and performing based out of the city of naarm whose work embraces musique concrète, environmentalism, noise and found objects in the composition and imaging of the live techno-ecological landscapes that she creates. Lisa released three incredible pieces in 2020, which included A Liquor Of Daisies (Shelter Press), an endless tape, Collagen (Shelter Press), her debut LP and scorebook and A Garden Dissolves Into Black Silk (Archaic Vaults), a durational experiment in magnetic tape erosion and interspecies listening. About the Live Recording: “ 27 minutes of biohacking and live analogue tape manipulations recorded at Colour Club, Carlton as part of Melbourne Music Week 2020 curated by Outhouse. A Garden Dissolves Into Black Silk was written on unceded Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung land last Winter as an exercise in interspecies listening and reciprocal relations. I’m still processing this news. I’m taking time to gather my thoughts about the intersection of race and gender and this devastating feeling inside I can’t yet place when I read that racism is still being questioned as a factor in these murders.
