//Good evening, Hong Kong.
On behalf of Assemblea Nacional Catalana and the independent movement in Catalonia, we thank you for your solidarity. We admire your persistence after the repression of the Umbrella Revolution 5 years ago. You’ve shown us that we cannot surrender, that we have to fight for our rights no matter what the difficulties are.
In Catalonia, since 2012 we have had strong democratic majority for self-determination, but Spain has never accepted to negotiate a referendum, so we finally did it on the 1st of October 2017, defending the polling stations and ballot boxes from the police violence with our bodies.
We did it, and independence won, but our government was not determined enough to implement the result under the threads of the Spain government. Since then, we’re facing repression and our leaders have just been condemned to a total of 100 years of prison with sentences going from 9 to 13 years.
But suddenly, with a verdict, we’ve appeared the courage of our people, and although many activists are detained, injured and prisoned, we are fighting for our fundamental rights as you, and we will not surrender.
We stand with Hong Kong. United, we stand for freedom, our win-win.//
