📌Tips and tricks to keep kids active during pandemic📌 #savepost Cases are rising again and though majority of the infections are said to be mild, as a parent of an unvaccinated kid; [yes, my elder is fully vaxed but Shrihaan is still way below 12 years cap] ; am quite apprehensive to take him to crowded places for now. September holidays are here but we are taking it slow. Now the question that’s bothering so many of us since last 2 years is how do we ensure that kids remain active? Screentime is up and kids are staying at home so much more than before. This is what we try and do for our kids: ⭕️ Bitsize physical activities throughout the daily routine - So we don’t allow Shrihaan non-stop screentime. He has to do some other activity to earn the screentime. Free play is what he loves. Catching, hide n seek, riding scooter in our home is what he spends time. Sometimes his sister plays with him and sometimes us. ⭕️ Going for walks or grocery shopping with Mom and Dad - we include Shrihaan and Eeshaa both whenever and wherever possible to get them moving. ⭕️ Watering plants and spring cleaning - these activities make kids move and bend their body, carry things and at the same time gives creative satisfaction. ⭕️ Dancing - it’s a very good exercise that kids can do safely from the comfort of home. You don’t have to be a dancer to dance 😂 Just start some catchy music and watch kids dancing away happily. ⭕️ Swimming - Kids regularly swim in our condo pool and that’s fun plus good exercise. ⭕️ Parks - we take Shrihaan there to get some Vitamin E for Exercise. He loves Running, scooting and walking, climbing. This was an interesting subject to paint. The gradation from blue to purple then to the lightest of pink only to be marked by bruising marks on the skin of the fruits. I was apprehensive on painting the bruising but in the true spirit of realism, I do like my paintings to have some kind of flaw of the subject. The leaves too was a gradation challenge… and you all know I don’t really like to paint leaves 😅.
