EARTH DAY. 🌍
# “What’s the point of recycling anyway if everybody else isn’t?” “If you’re so adamant on recycling why do you still continue to purchase plastic and such?” “You do know that the things you put in the recycling bin end up going to the same rubbish heap anyway don’t you?” “You’re wasting your time separating your rubbish when there are people paid to do it already.” #
Do you often hear the same thing when you’re trying to do your little bit for the environment? I feel you my fellow Mother Earth apologists.
We are living in unprecedented times. Nobody could have predicted the pandemic that has completely taken over our lives today. Perhaps The Earth, our mother who was crying out for us to nourish and protect her as she has been doing for us in every moment giving us air to breathe, fresh water to drink as well as food to eat needed a break. Maybe we needed a break too. A break to reconnect with our loved ones. With ourselves. It was inevitable.
This Ramadhan will be like no other. We shall show our gratitude to the Almighty for the food that he puts on our tables that nourishes us. Food from the soil that is given the chance to replenish it’s minerals and watered by rain now less polluted hence encouraging plants to grow bigger giving us cleaner air to breathe. We will pray with our loved ones in the comfort of our own homes savouring the calm nights content and happy whilst the earth heals itself.
My earth enthusiasts, you are not alone. Sometimes you simply need to hold on to your reins and continue to steer your course however small or big your contributions to Mother Earth maybe. Most importantly do it out of love and the rest will follow.
Dear Earth, Happy Earth Day.
My life would not be the same without you and your amazing energy. The impact you’ve made on me is worth a million birthday spoils and more. Stay as bright, bubbly and lovely as you are. Happy birthday!

The word “moderate” has lost its credibility. Fareed Zakaria has referred to Middle Eastern moderates as a “fantasy.” Even apologists like Nathan Lean are pointing out that the use of this word isn’t helping anyone.
Islam needs reformers, not moderates. And words like “reform” just don’t go very well with words like “infallibility.”

New blog post on racism and Pastor Noble's N-word. "Rather than simply dismiss the hurt as “fighting” and telling others to stop it in the name of the Christian mission, Noble ought to admit to his role in dividing the church via a racially divisive and hurtful word. He should further tell his fans to step back from defending him! ... The response of his apologists like many apologists for these celebrity pastors are pitifully predictable. Many will put it down to Noble being careless with his words. 'Careless' is relative. If he slipped in a few cuss words like Hauerwas or Brueggemann, that would be careless because those cuss words can slip into our daily frustrations and excitement, but not the N-word. No!
