    林業犯罪猖獗且官商勾結嚴重的 #柬埔寨，#新聞自由 程度恐怕也越來越緊縮。

    今年9月，4名記者在報導當地林業犯罪行為後，就遭到木材貿易商砸車、毆打與威脅。

    在衝突中受傷的記者認為，「他們是在威脅所有記者，要大家不得報導任何林業犯罪行為」。

    #國際記者聯盟（IFJ）的調查記錄顯示，柬埔寨記者因為報導環境議題而遭受攻擊的次數令人不安。有81%的柬埔寨記者表示，工作屬性對他們的人身安全造成威脅。

    IFJ說：「柬埔寨對於記者來說是一個危險的國家，尤其是對那些報導林業犯罪與共謀勾當的記者。我們強烈要求當局儘速對這起案件進行公開透明的調查。」

    美國闊葉木樹種多樣且注重永續生產，向來受到全球傢俱設計師、建築師、室內設計師的歡迎。有鑒於此，美國在台協會農業貿易辦事處和美國闊葉木外銷委員會邀請到美國知名闊葉木專家克里斯韋爾戴維斯(Criswell Davis)先生來台，主講「可持續的美國闊葉木設計」講座。活動將於2015年12月14日(星期一)在臺北喜來登大飯店舉行。歡迎木材貿易商、傢俱製造商、室內設計師、建築師及相關媒體參加。

    主講人戴維斯先生是美國全能橡木顧問公司總裁，也是國際公認的美國闊葉木專家，揚聲器和硬木顧問。他擔任一些世界上最大的建築和設計公司的顧問，協助指導在美國和海外的設計建案和指定採購美國硬木的過程。他在美國闊葉木行業超過28年，其中20年代表美國大型鋸木廠和乾燥窯設施。戴維斯是美國建築師協會(AIA)認可的進修教育提供商和大學講師，他經常代表美國闊葉木外銷委員會（AHEC）在中東、印度、東南亞、澳洲和紐西蘭演講，全世界超過4,000名建築師、設計師、指定者和學生聆聽過戴維斯先生的演講。

    American hardwoods have always been a popular choice for furniture designers, architects, and interior design¬ers worldwide because of their diversity, unique characteristics, and environmental credentials. The American Institute in Taiwan’s Agricultural Trade Office and the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) are hosting an American Institute of Architects, Continuing Education Course to offer architectural and design industry professionals an exciting and informative presentation on the use of sustainable American hardwoods in design. We welcome timber traders, furniture manufacturers, architects, interior designers, and media to attend.

    The keynote speaker, Criswell Davis, President of Mighty Oaks Consulting based in Dayton, Ohio USA, is an internationally recognized American hardwood expert. He advises some of the largest architecture and design firms in the world, helping to guide the process of specifying and procuring American hardwoods for projects in the US and overseas. He has been in the American hardwood industry for over 28 years at all levels of the industry, including nearly 20 years representing a large American sawmill and kiln drying facil¬ity. An approved AIA (American Institute of Architects) Continuing Education provider and university lecturer, he is often called upon to speak on behalf of AHEC and has presented to over 4,000 architects, designers, specifiers and students around the world.
