When I read this article about The top 10 countries for Asian food, http://www.traveller.com.au/the-top-ten-countries-for-asian-food-h0wpkb, this paragraph stood out:

"(NB: There's a notable omission on this list: Singapore. And I hear you, the food there is mind-blowingly good. However, a lot of that cuisine is other people's: it's Chinese, Indian, Malay and European. For that reason I've had to miss it out. Let's say it came 11th.)"

The writer left Singapore out because our food is "other people's" but included Malaysia, and listed their "char kway teow, roti canai, and fish ball noodles".

    Right.

Below is the twitter thread that followed.

Following my tweet, the writer, @bengroundwater, jumped in and said:

"@mrbrown *List on internet sparks fury* 😂"

And then called us snowflakes for pointing out his flawed logic and poor research:

"@mrbrown Lol. I know internet outrage is more delicious than chicken rice, but you all remember the actual story, right? To quote: “the food there is mind-blowingly good”. Hardly the worst thing anyone’s said about you petals"

Looks like I hurt somebody's feelings.

Look, you can say our food not nice. You can also say our food is mind-blowingly good. But to omit our country from a list of Asian food because our cuisine is "other people's" just shows a woeful ignorance of our food heritage and culture.

On a night the Philadelphia 76ers reached 50 wins for the first time in 11 years, they honored the leader of their last 50-win club.

The 76ers became the first Eastern Conference team with 50 wins this season as they retired Charles Barkley's No. 34 and rode Allen Iverson's near triple-double to a 102-89 victory over the woeful Golden State Warriors.

"That's great because I've never been on a team in the NBA that won 50 games," Iverson said. "It's great. It all comes together. Everything that happened with Charles, winning the game, it being our 50th win, it was just a great night."

"It's a tremendous accomplishment," 76ers coach Larry Brown said. "Now, hopefully we'll get a little confidence from this game. It is an accomplishment when you consider four or five years ago we won 21 or 22, then 31."

With just their second win in eight games, Philadelphia improved to 50-22, one game behind San Antonio for the best record in the NBA. The 76ers surpassed last season's win total and reached 50 wins for the first time since the 1989-90 campaign.

That team won the Atlantic Division title and was powered by Barkley, who spent the first eight years of his 16-year career with the Sixers and in 1996 was named one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players.

Before a sellout crowd of 20,958 at the First Union Center, Barkley was honored in a halftime ceremony that included many family members, former coaches and teammates. He was brought to tears by a standing ovation and repeated his desire to enter the Basketball Hall of Fame as a Sixer before a banner bearing his No. 34 was hoisted to the rafters.

"It was especially nice with Charles here," Brown said. "The ceremony was phenomenal, seeing his number go up. He meant a lot to this franchise and this league. I personally admire the hell out of him. I thought it was really nicely done."

The prolonged ceremony seemed to spark the Sixers, who have had their troubles in the third quarter of late but instead turned a five-point halftime lead into a 77-61 advantage.

Iverson scored 17 in the period, just two shy of Golden State's total. He finished with 35 points, a career-high 11 rebounds and nine assists, just missing his first career triple-double.

"I really wanted it because I never did it before. To have a triple double, that's a great all-around game. And on a night like this when you have one of the greatest players to ever play the game, the whole all-around game, and he gets his jersey retired, it was something I wanted to look back on. It was a great night, my mom got to see Charles get his jersey retired, I got a chance to see it. It was something special, something I'll cherish for the rest of my life."

Tyrone Hill had a season-high 21 points and 14 rebounds for the Sixers, who went 16-12 against the powerful Western Conference this season. Philadelphia has won its last six meetings with Golden State.

Hill has a personal memory of playing against Barkley.

"I remember when I was a rookie and we played them at Golden State," he said. "He said to me `Rookie, you keep playing hard like you've been playing and you'll be in the league a long time.' He knows all about work ethic."

Antawn Jamison scored 32 points for the Warriors, who have lost seven in a row on the road and 22 of 24 overall since the All-Star break.

The Sixers never trailed after using a 7-0 spurt to open a 9-2 lead. They led 23-19 after one quarter and by 10 points in the second period before settling for a 47-42 halftime lead.

The ceremony for Barkley lasted 30 minutes, more than twice as long as a normal halftime, which did not bode well for the Sixers. In their last six losses, they had managed just 102 points in the third quarter.

A 3-pointer by Jamison pulled Golden State within 54-52 with 7:36 left before Philadelphia rattled off 14 consecutive points. Iverson had two 3-pointers and Hill and George Lynch had two baskets each during the spurt, which gave the Sixers a 68-52 advantage with 3:28 remaining.

"Iverson just took over," Warriors coach Dave Cowens said. "We went down by 14 and he made two 3-pointers. Of the 14 points, he accounted for six of them. Great players step up when they have to and that's what he did tonight. That's when the game got away."

"We knew that we couldn't let then stay in the game and gain some confidence," Hill said. "So, we stepped it up defensively and we got some easy baskets and got some easy looks."

Philadelphia led 77-61 entering the fourth quarter and opened its largest lead at 92-71 on a basket by Jumaine Jones with 6:25 to go.

The 76ers might want to go into halftime behind if they want to turn their season around.

Playing with a big lead has only led to big losses -- and has coach Eddie Jordan's job on the rocks. Chris Bosh and the Raptors were only the latest team to rally from a double-digit deficit and beat Philadelphia.

Bosh made the go-ahead three-point play with 8.4 seconds left and had 29 points and nine rebounds to lead Toronto to a 108-106 victory over the 76ers on Friday night.

Andrea Bargnani scored 23 points to help the Raptors rally from a 13-point hole and win their third straight.

The Sixers have led by 10-plus points in each of their last three losses and are 7-8 this season when they hold a double-digit lead at any point.

The 76ers wasted an 18-point lead in a loss to Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards on Tuesday. They watched an 11-point halftime lead evaporate against the Raptors in the third quarter.

"We're jumping out and holding leads and we just can't hold them," guard Allen Iverson said. "We play well for a while and then it seems we just lose focus."

Bosh was fouled by Sixers center Samuel Dalembert on a drive to the basket and made the twisting, off-balance layup. He sank the free throw for a 108-106 lead.

Lou Williams' last-chance 3-pointer was off the mark, dropping the Sixers to 4-12 at home.

"We fight to the end, but for whatever reason, it never happens," Williams said.

Before the game, Sixers team president Ed Stefanski refused to say Jordan's job was safe for the rest of the season with the team off to a 10-25 start.

Andre Iguodala fell just shy of a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Thaddeus Young had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Williams scored 23 points and Iverson had a season-high 22. Sixers forward Elton Brand missed the game with a stomach virus.

Young's driving layup late in the fourth rolled off the front of the rim, but a charging Dalembert was there for the dunk that gave the Sixers a 106-105 lead.

Bosh finished off the Sixers from the inside after the Raptors rallied from the outside.

"Sam is a good defender," Bosh said of the winner. "I just had to size him up and see what he was going to do."

The Raptors, who have made a 3-pointer in 897 straight games, hit their first ones of the game in the third on back-to-back 3s from Jarrett Jack and Bargnani that sliced the deficit under 10.

Marco Belinelli capped an 11-3 run with his first 3 of the game that tied it at 83.

Jrue Holiday's baseline jumper helped send the Sixers into the fourth with a small lead.

    It didn't last long.

The only surprise was how long it took the Raptors to start making 3s after an 0-for-5 first half. The Sixers are last in the NBA in 3-point defense, allowing teams to shoot a whopping 42 percent against them.

The Raptors finished 5 for 15 from long range -- but each one in the second half did in the Sixers.

It's losses like this one that have Stefanski refusing to endorse Jordan. But Stefanski held the entire organization accountable for a slide that has left the Sixers with the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

"It's not just the head coach," Stefanski said before tip-off. "It's the coaches, the players and myself. No one is happy here."

Stefanski, who has yet to turn the Sixers into contenders in 2-plus seasons as president and general manager, took some of the blame for the woeful start.

"If you're looking at the record, I haven't done a real good job so far," he said.

Jordan might be running out of time to get the Sixers turned around.

"We're not getting the job done and we're going to have to get it done," Stefanski said.

Ricky Davis couldn't shut up the few courtside Philly fans gesturing and yapping at him in the fourth quarter. His clutch baskets and some sharp 3-point shooting from Mike James was more than enough to quiet the skidding 76ers.

Davis scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and Kevin Garnett had 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 95-84 win over Philadelphia on Sunday night.

"When someone comes up and plays big in the fourth, that's what we need," Davis said.

The Timberwolves had a pair of players leading the fourth-quarter charge to stop a three-game losing streak. James and Davis combined to lead the Timberwolves' push, turning into a potent 1-2 punch that knocked out the Sixers in front of a sparse home crowd and dreary atmosphere.

James made three 3-pointers in the quarter and teamed with Davis to score 23 of Minnesota's 27 points, helping the Timberwolves get a road win for only the third time in nine games. James finished with 20 points.

Allen Iverson, fined last week for skipping a bowling event, led the Sixers with 26 points. Samuel Dalembert had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Chris Webber 11 points and nine rebounds. The Sixers have lost four straight and 11 of 13 since starting the season 3-0 for the first time since the 2000-01 season.

That year ended with an Eastern Conference title for Philadelphia. This one might land them in the lottery.

"I don't have any answers for what's going on," Iverson said. "We're not having no fun out there on the basketball court. That has a lot to do with losing."

This time, it was Davis' turn to extend Philadelphia's misery.

When Davis wasn't jawing with taunting front-row fans, he was knocking down baskets from all over the court to boost Minnesota's lead early in the fourth. He opened the quarter with an 18-footer, hit his first 3-pointer of the game, and sank two free throws for a 75-67 lead.

Davis enjoyed the give-and-take with the Philly faithful.

"Yeah, it was nice," he said. "It got me going a little bit and I appreciate it."

When Davis converted a three-point play late in the fourth he gave the Timberwolves something to really appreciate -- their first double-digit lead, 83-73.

James added two of his 3s late in the quarter to provide some cushion and Minnesota shot 52 percent overall from the floor.

"I shoot hundreds of those shots every day and I put the work in, so it's only right when I come into the game that I shoot with confidence," James said.

The Timberwolves outrebounded the Sixers by eight and became the latest team to exploit Philadelphia's woeful defense.

Iverson and Garnett carried their teams for most of the first three quarters in a tight game where neither team could build a lead larger than six points. Davis sank an 18-footer in the final minute of the third to help put the Timberwolves ahead entering the fourth.

"We knew come the fourth we wanted to make a bigger push, take the lead and be aggressive," Garnett said.

Minnesota did all three, and left the Sixers wondering what they can do to win.

"This is not the way it was supposed to be," coach Maurice Cheeks said. "It's not what I envisioned. Our effort on the floor tonight wasn't good enough. We're still searching for an answer."

    Game Notes
Philadelphia F Kyle Korver sat out his second straight game with a sprained left ankle. ... Former Villanova star Randy Foye scored eight points in his first game back in Philadelphia. The Wildcats and coach Jay Wright watched the game from the upper deck, and Foye left several tickets from other friends and family. Foye attended the Villanova win on Saturday night. ... Iverson was whistled for a technical in the third.
