「這麼說，我的痛苦，其實來自我一直不願意去面對痛苦？」

「沒錯。逃避或抗拒痛苦，會像蜂窩性組織炎，把一顆綠豆大的問題，搞成一顆籃球。這就是一種封閉的『任性』（willfulness），硬是要去掌控、操縱、指導宇宙的過程，結果卻弄得自己痛苦不堪。」

「真是高深的哲學。F醫生，想必很多病人已經問過你：有沒有什麼技巧，是我壓力大的時候可以用的？」

「博士編了兩個口訣，叫做”ACCEPTS”（活動、奉獻、比較、情緒、推開、思維、感覺），和”IMPROVE”（想像、意義、祈禱、放鬆、一次一件事、休假、鼓勵），相信妳看了，大致可以懂意思。」

「我會試試看。感覺，是什麼意思？」澄茵問。

「用感覺的方式，來轉移注意力。有些人帶著冰袋，心裡痛苦的時候就緊緊握住它，心裡就好受些......
