    Currently in Vietnam for the New Years and thought I'd share some pictures I took along the way. Will be there for a couple more days. These are just my experiences of the entire trip. Also, loaned the new Canon EOS R for the trip so I'll share some thoughts about the camera as well! Thanks Canon Malaysia for the loan!!

    First stop was Hanoi which is the capital of Vietnam. We didn't really have much time to explore the entire capital so we explored around the Hoàn Kiếm Lake and nearby areas. It's fairly modernised with more tourist than locals I feel. It's winter now so it's extremely cold (compared to Malaysia that is) at 8 degrees celsius. It's somewhat like Bukit Bintang. Everyone dresses to impress here so you hardly find anything traditional. Personally, whilst it was interesting to weave and jaywalk around, Hanoi reminds me a lot of KL with its tourist and youth. I didn't feel like I got to know Vietnam and its culture yet and I think it shows in the pictures I took. But it's just my first day so I'm excited to see more of this country's heritage and tradition. You can see the description of each photo to get more context.

    Now about the #EOSR. Coming from the 5D Mark IV, which I absolutely love and is my favourite camera of all time, the weight is a blessing. As much as the 5D is a beast, you tend to feel the weight after awhile. Being a street shooter, you need to focus on what you see and the longer you stay shooting, the higher your chances of getting better photos. The R is insanely light for a full frame camera and I had no problems carrying it on my shoulders for 7-8 hours straight. Also, if you haven't heard it, the shutter is insanely quiet. It's not a huge "WHOMP" a DSLR makes. It's kinda like a flap opening. Really helped when taking close up pictures of people without them feeling threatened. Overall really happy with using it for street photos. More to come in the next few days! All photos were taken on the R (except of the one with me of course)
