【PBS訪問三位曾經與死亡極度靠近的倖存者們：一位二戰退休將士；一位敘利亞集中營倖存者，和一位挪威槍擊案倖存者，談論對新冠疫情的生死觀。二戰諾曼第登陸倖存者蘭伯特（Ray Lambert）：在登陸前我們就知道，我們會有至少15%的人死在戰場上，但是我們沒有去多想太多，一直去談論這件事，只會讓人感到焦慮，或是感到憤怒。如果不去想它，也就沒那麼難了。來自挪威的以勒（Bjorn Ihler），是2011年挪威恐攻的倖存者，當時69名青少年慘遭極右槍手屠殺，死在於托亞小島(Utoya)。Bjorn Ihler：這場疫情讓人們重新思考，他們真正重視的是什麼，這在解除封鎖後仍會影響著我們，即使我們回到所謂的新常態，我們會去珍視那些我們真正重視的東西。奧馬（Omar al Shogre）被關在被稱為「人類屠宰場」的敘利亞塞德納亞（Saydnaya）監獄，那裡有超過一萬三千多人遭到「處決」。挺過了敘利亞集中營的敘利亞異議人士奧馬（Omar al Shogre）：我們都必須學習走在兩條線上，一條是奮力活下去，彷彿你永遠不會死亡；另一條是把今天當做人生的最後一天。PBS結語：此刻的我們，活在一個比以往更不確定的未來，但是數百年來，先賢不斷告誡著人們。像是達文西就說過：一生充實，可以無憾(A life well used bring happy death)，所以好好活在當下吧。】

自75年前第二次世界大戰結束後，眾多西方國家，不再有機會面對這麼大規模的死傷，直到新冠肺炎出現改變了一切。死亡有個數字：３６萬人，其中四分之一在紐約。在疫情最嚴峻的時刻，幾乎是每兩分鐘就有一個紐約人死亡。

「死亡」是一個很大的禁忌，很多人很怕提及這個話題，這次的新冠疫情讓很多人驚覺，我們不會一直活著，長久以來我們活在光彩奪目的西方社會，很多人直到年屆中年以前，並沒有機會經歷親友這樣的死去，這場疫情讓許多人突然發現，原來人類是那麼脆弱啊

和老兵Lambert不同，Bjorn Ihler並沒有受過訓練，教他如何面對死亡，來自挪威的Bjorn Ihler，是2011年那場69名青少年慘遭極右槍手屠殺的挪威於托亞小島(Utoya)恐攻倖存者。

當時我站起來槍手對著我開槍，我倒下但幸運的沒被射中，儘管新冠疫情死亡人數不斷攀升，Ihler相信光明會在前方。這場疫情讓人們重新思考，他們真正重視的是什麼，這在解除封鎖後仍會影響著我們，即使我們回到所謂的新常態，我們會去珍視那些我們真正重視的東西，瀕臨死亡且明白生命的脆弱，明白生命是如此的短暫，會讓我們更懂得去珍惜此刻所擁有的一切

Omar al Shogre他被關在敘利亞惡名昭彰的Saydnaya監獄，那裡有超過1萬3000多人遭到「處決」，而Omar al Shogre則是差點被活活打死，挺過了敘利亞集中營的Omar al Shogre有了人生的體悟。

喺Cornwall嘅最後一晚，點都要用盡個廚房佢。呢度盛產吞拿魚同沙甸魚，所以買咗少少返嚟煮。煎香佢，再配個蕃茄臭雞醬(puttanesca)。剩餘嘅醬汁用嚟撈個腸仔意粉😂

Our last night in beautiful Cornwall and for dinner I’ve made use of two of their famous produce: Tuna and Sardines. Made a tomato based puttanesca sauce that complimented the fish very well. Used the remaining sauce to make a Frankfurter pasta 😂

Longggg overdued post but these two from @belif_singapore are long gone from my stash, and the water bottle is already so well-used, it’s my dance/gym companion for months!

This video we are reviewing the Synco Mic-D1 microphone and see what you get and also what kind of microphone this is. The Synco Mic-D1 is a Hyper Cardioid which is a great pick up patterns that is directional, however it is still quite a wide pick up. This microphone can be well used for indoor or studio, however because of the wide patterns it is easy to pick up sound from around your subject when using outdoors and not get a clean enough sound as result. But in controlled locations using the microphone for podcast, voice overs and indoor interviews it is a great sounding microphone for that.

All audio is recorded with the Synco Mic-D1 powered with AA battery and connected to my Panasonic GH5, GH5 volume setting is set to the lowest on the camera.

We just got a brand new gadget for our kitchen! The Magimix Cuisine System 4200XL is a multipurpose food processer made in France.

Oh boy, were we impressed by the demo. When we saw what the machine could do, both Roland & I knew that this kitchen gadget is going to be so well-used in our kitchen.

We're also very happy to know that Magimix can be used to replace some of our other kitchen gadgets with specialised functions, which unfortunately are lying in the cabinets because we simply have no excess counter top space. With this somewhat all-in-one food processor, we've given away our fruit juicer and even our Russell Hobbs blender, which some of you were keen to purchase. This Magimix food processor is so much more versatile and powerful than what we have been using now.

Although at first glance, this equipment may seemed very expensive at S$1,298 (sticker price), if you really think about it, with their 20 years warranty on the motor, you're actually only paying less than S$65 per year on this solid & versatile gadget. I think it's really worth the price because we're definitely spending more than S$65 a year to replace some of the gadgets we have in the kitchen.

Anyway, enough of our praises for the gadget. We can go on and on about it. We just want to share our excitement with you. Heheh.
