There's not just one road to the destination, but many roads. You just need to take the little step that’s right in front of you, and then the next one, and a few years down the track, they will seem like massive achievements.

I didn’t meet my father until I was 6 years old. My parents had a comfortable, middle-class life in Shanghai, or as close as you could get under communism. But they always wanted to live overseas, and just before I was born, my dad came to Sydney to set things up. I don’t know why, but in the end, my mother and I didn’t join him until I was 6.

Eventually, Mum moved us down to Melbourne, where we were able to make some new networks and family friendships. But I was bullied a bit at school about things like my food and clothing! Whenever someone bullied me, I would defend myself, but because I didn’t have the language skills to explain to the teacher why, I got in trouble quite a bit. I ended up having to move school 3 times before I came to Balwyn Primary School, which was relatively multicultural.

I had started learning the violin from the age of 2.5 years old and even with all the troubles that were going on in my life, had somehow still kept up with it. As a result, I got a music scholarship to Trinity Grammar School. But even there I used to get into quite a lot of mischief, and would often skip school to go to the movies.

Tough weekend but we move on.

在面對種種的困難與衰事，最終還是被我趕上了英國全國卡丁聯賽的Larkhall站。這裡是我開始開卡丁車的地方，雖然沒開幾次就因為疫情而回到台灣，但這個賽道對我來說還是有許多很深的情感，畢竟是人生一段新的開始。

從護照被英國官方用丟，台灣疫情封城無法練車，新創公司的初期營運，回英國的行程錯亂延伸出的金流問題，頻道全新章節的開始，史上最難的搬家，新房東的不負責任，牙醫學院新學期的準備跟滿滿的約診，在練習時的擦傷

真的讓這次原本難度就很高的比賽變得更加挑戰。

最後final也以撞車收場。
總結就是體力太差，跑得也太慢。
面對這些鳥事跟挑戰的當下真的很不是滋味，
但人生不就是這樣
關關難過，關關過

We are honoured to have Mr Pasu Ng, the champion behind the CUHK "Silent Teacher" Body Donation Programme and dissecting laboratory manager of the Faculty of Medicine, to be our speaker in the first public seminar of the four-lecture series on life and death education, organized by the School of Public Health and Primary Care, CUHK. A veteran embalmer and restorative artist, Pasu will share with us the concepts and values behind body donation, as well as reviewing and projecting the development of and the humanitarian concern behind "remains processing."

•從語音結構上來看，中文是一種「音節計時語言（syllable-timed language）及「聲調語言」（tone language），每個字由一個音節構成，唸起來各音節輕重相當且時間大致等長，而且每個字有自己的聲調；但英語是一種「重音計時語言」（stress-timed language）及「語調語言」(intonation language)，每個字的音節數不一，由各音節是否有重音來決定其輕重、長短與音階高低，而重音落於何處也會決定其語意之不同。

•One of the most noticeable features of English is that some of its syllables are strong while many others are weak” (Roach, 2000, p81). English stress pattern is manifested through syllable length, loudness and pitch. In other words, stressed syllables are longer, louder and higher pitched than unstressed ones. Sometimes one word that is stressed differently may have different grammatical functions and meanings, for example, the homographs “record” (verb) and “record” (noun). “Record” has the stress on second syllable when it is a verb, and it has stress on the first when it is a noun. The shift of the stress even makes a noticeable difference to the sound of the vowels, for instance, “e” in noun “REcord” is pronounced as /e/, but /ɪ/ in verb “reCORD”.

•會導致聽者需要完全專注他每一個字才能辨識他在說什麼
•不覺得每一個政治人物都需要英文，有專業和可靠的翻譯輔助，就覺得不會是一種困擾
•英文是一種工具，多一種工具就多一種選擇，但這種工具用不好時也有可能會造成一些誤解
