這首歌敘述著現代人雖然身處在一個資訊流通非常發達的時代，人們的發言也相對自由，但事實上，卻很難真正能夠自我反思或是表達自己想法的時代。同溫層將人的思想故封在一個狀態，因此要在現代成為一個有獨立思考能力的人⋯很難，我們總是會落入隨波逐流的處境。這首歌就是在這樣的背景下創作的，他向人們拋出對於自我存在的疑問，也是對於現實的掙扎。
在編曲上面也有些不一樣的想法，相較於一般常見的四拍歌曲，這首歌巧妙運用五拍的基數拍，打破耳朵熟悉的韻律，製造搖擺的錯落感來呈現都市裡的忙亂，如同人們被生活追趕，被現實擠壓的感覺。在歌曲中段忽然改變成六拍的句子「難道只能這樣存在？」這句話猶如衝破迷惘的吶喊，就像現代人試圖在匆忙之中喘息，尋找得以呼吸的瞬間。
