最近看到多家媒體報導鼓勵大家支持「公益」彩券，就聯想到之前看過的一些彩券報導。雖然每個國家的彩券發行的法律、收益的分紅和管理規範都不盡相同，還是可以參考以下美國多家知名報社關於美國彩券的社論。根據西方的經驗，購買彩券的人大多是低收入戶，他們將微薄的收入用來買「公益」彩券，窮人的錢成為彩券的主要財源，因此，公益彩券反而像變相的「窮人稅」。彩券是否如迷幻藥般，使部分窮人更窮？值得大家深思。

這一陣子因為疫情的影響，對於有親友住在醫院、長照機構的朋友們飽受煎熬，幸好經過大家的同心協力，防疫終於得到了初步的成效，新北市的「探視原則」也將以保險、安全為原則逐步開放。本週的英語小教室要來和大家分享的是 #長照機構，英文叫做long-term care facility，long-term是”長期的”、而”短期的”就是short-term，只要在後面加上想要的名詞，就可以運用在很多不一樣的地方囉！例如：short-term job指的是短期或臨時的工作，short-term memory就是我們腦袋裡的短期記憶！
在現今高齡化的社會(aged society)，如何給長者完善的照護早已成為世界各國共同的課題。疫情期間，長照機構的住民(包含長者、產婦、慢性病患者等)更是健康方面的弱勢族群(vulnerable groups)，新北市為了降低住民們的感染風險(risk of infection)，請大家必須徹底遵守實名制探視 (name-based visit)、會客室(reception room)探訪限制，更一定要記得全程戴上口罩、保持社交距離、不得共餐飲食、確認TOCC、量測體溫及酒精消毒等規定喔！
在疫情非常時期，要確保長輩的安全，又要考量家屬已經有段時間無法親自見到親人，肯定不是件容易的事。但也正因為如此，家屬與長照機構間的彼此體諒(mutual understanding)就更是至關重要了！唯有大家一起努力，才能避免防疫破功，大家恢復正常生活的日子才能快點到來。 Fighting 💪!!
