Day 10 of #hkyogachallenge - #vrischikasana.

#Scorpionpose is naturally a progression from #pinchamayurasana. But trust me this is actually a lot easier than #pincha. Remember, this pose can totally be done against the wall. Hope this step by step guide will help you:

1️⃣ Start from #pincha (see my pose from yesterday). Separate your feet to about hip width. And start to arch your back and lift the head up as if you're trying to look for the sky.

2️⃣ When you can't arch the back anymore, start bending the knees and try to bring the toe tips towards the head. Notice the shoulders are not so open in a straight line, as in the case of #forearmbalance.

3️⃣ Breathe deeply and engage the core firmly. No need to force yourself to bring the feet to touch the head. In fact, relax your legs and let the feet drop. If possible, keep the feet together. Your ego will want your feet to meet your head but you can do poses like #dhanurasana or #urdhvadhanurasana to open your the chest and deepen your #backbend.

4️⃣ This is a rather tricky pose to have someone to spot you so you're better off practicing with an experienced teacher or doing it against the wall. Just walk your feet down along the wall when you're in #pincha, and start to play with your balance once you're arched enough into the full pose. You'll soon notice that this is a lot easier pose to balance than #pinchamayurasana for its lower #centreofgravity.
