粉紅彩鑽主要形成原因是結構缺陷(錯位平移)、孿晶結構扭曲，而使鑽石呈現粉紅色。在過去的幾十年裡，澳大利亞的Argyle礦已經是粉紅鑽石的最重要的來源，但要發掘得到仍是非常罕見的事情。從Argyle礦已經生產了超過8億克拉的鑽石毛胚，但粉紅彩鑽的總產量佔少過1％。世界任何地方都沒有足夠的粉色鑽石，粉鑽的稀有，使其成為極其珍貴的彩鑽之一。粉紅鑽石從0.30-0.50克拉至2-3克拉收藏量不斷增加，不少彩鑽商人都在收集粉紅鑽石。

🔰紅寶石的歷史，火焰熱情般的寶石，嬌貴登場

「紅寶石」是歷史上地位最顯赫的彩色寶石之一，在《聖經》里曾經被提到過4次，在古老的梵文中，「紅寶石」被稱為「Ratnaraj」，意為「王者之石」（King of precious stones）。

公元一世紀，羅馬學者大普林尼（Pliny the Elder）就在其著作《自然史》（Natural History）中描述過紅寶石的堅硬和密度。古印度人認為向黑天神（Krishna）供奉紅寶石的人，將被轉世為帝王。

來自莫三比克與馬達加斯加的"無燒"紅寶石，清澈乾淨的晶體在交易市場上稱為Glassy body，顏色有pigeon blood, vivid pinkish red，原本紅寶就非常難找了，玻璃體的紅寶更是難上加難，無燒無任何處理的玻璃體紅寶石又不會太貴的根本地獄模式！
