🎥《日日是好日》英文版 Every day is a good day

我們逢人都會問候一句：「你好嗎？」關心著彼此是不是每天都過得很好？但是，真有可能每天都很好嗎？連傷風感冒都沒有嗎？應該會有，既然有，怎麼可能日日是好日呢？
We greet people by asking them “How are you?” to show our care and concern for each other. But, is it possible for every day to be a good day, without ever catching a cold or influenza? Probably not! Since it happens, how can every day really be a good day?

有次我看到一位法師劈柴時，不小心劈到手指，頓時血流如注。我問他要緊嗎？他說：「很好，很好。」
A venerable accidently cut his finger when chopping wood, and thus bled profusely. When I asked him how serious his wound was, he simply replied, “It’s alright. I’m fine”.

我說：「你已經砍掉半根手指了，怎麼還說好啊？」
I said, “You almost chopped off half of your finger, so how could that still be fine?”

他說：「沒關係，我在消業，可能我過去殺了一條豬或 一頭牛，現在砍了半根手指消業，以後就沒有事了。」
He answered, “It doesn’t matter. I’m eliminating my bad karma. Perhaps in my past life I killed a pig or cow, and so now by accidentally chopping half of my finger off to eliminate that karma, I will be fine in the future.”

遇到災難還能算是好日嗎？當然能！因為身體雖受了苦，或受人家批評、攻擊，但只要心裡的狀態是正常的、平靜的，不就日日是好日嗎？
Can a disastrous day still be considered a good day? It certainly can! When we are experiencing physical pain, taking criticism or are under attack by others, as long as we keep a right and calm state of mind, wouldn’t that reflect: every day is a good day?

今天親自去拜見「隆坡通長老」，請示了好些佛教戒律的知識。

過往認知的「規矩」，不少皆非佛說，而是以訛傳訛的誤解。

信佛，就是信佛陀所教授的，而不是經過祭師們加鹽加醋的「改良或改惡」創意演譯。

當中華佛教漸漸衍變成創意工業，我們也許應該去「志蓮淨苑」，聽聽原本的佛法究竟是怎樣的。

長老的簡歴：

Thailand Forest Tradition Meditation Master Luangpor Thongchai. 泰國傳承森林派禪修導師隆坡通, 法名馬哈般若（意思是大智慧者）。

Born 1957 Pattaya,Thailand.

法師1957年出生在泰國芭提雅的一個華僑家庭。

Ordained at age 26（1983） at Wat NaJam Tien, Choburi. Practised under Luangpor Maha Bhumi ( first generation disciple of world famous Meditation Master Venerable Ajahn Chah。

1983 年，在泰國的春武理府出家 ，時年26歲。依止於隆坡馬哈布彌學習禪修。隆坡馬哈布彌是泰國近代大禪師阿贊查的第一代弟子。

1992 practised under Luangpor Ganhah Sukhakammo at Wat Phrae Dhammavana.

1992年帕府的法禪林參學，親近學習於泰國近代著名行腳頭陀長老隆坡甘夏。

2005,requested by Malaysia devotees to teach at Ipoh Sukhavanna. Bhante was invited to move to Bukit Mertarajam ( near Penang ).

2005年一月，應馬來西亞居士邀請赴怡保樂苑寺教授禪修。尊者一年後遷往北馬（靠近檳城）的大山腳。

2006 to now, Abbot of Bukit Mertarajam Dhammavana.

2006年起任大山腳法禅林主持。

He also followed the Master’s footsteps by obtaining a PhD from Rissho University in Japan. Since 2018, after becoming DDM abbot president, the venerable has continued to guide practitioners in their practice for self-cultivation and self-transformation, and engaged more in Dharma propagation and exchange worldwide, in a restless effort to uplift the status of Chinese Buddhism.

This short film shows how Ven. Guo Huei vowed to repay his teacher’s kindness by dedicating himself to sharing the Buddha’s teachings, while incorporating his personal practice into his daily duties and care activities. Under his leadership, DDM will continue to help enable the sound of Dharma to keep spreading extensively, resonating throughout the world.

聖嚴法師與觀音菩薩的故事(二)跟著月亮過海洋
To honor the dignity of the nation and its people, and to maintain the glory of Buddhism that was declining in China at that time, young Sheng Yen chose to leave the monastery and join the army to come to Taiwan. Being a soldier might be hard for Sheng Yen, he nevertheless remained a vegetarian and kept the Buddhist precepts, and never forgot his vows made before Guanyin Bodhisattva. Then, he encountered Venerable Master Ling Yuan and, by contributing articles to the Humanity Magazine, got acquainted with Venerable Master Dong Chu, and thus got to resume his monastic life and start the journey of sharing the Dharma for the benefit of beings.
